3:194

Salaam all,

This is 3:194
رَبَّنَا وَآتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَى رُسُلِكَ وَلاَ تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّكَ لاَ تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ
Rabbana waatina ma waAAadtana AAala rusulika wala tukhzina yawma alqiyamati innaka la tukhlifu almeeAAada

The Aya says:
Our nurturing Lord, and bring to us what you promised us through your envoys, including not making us defeated on the Day of Judgment. Indeed, you (singular) do not renege on the promise.

My personal note:
This continues the prayer of those people. They mention God’s promise that came with the messengers that those who follow them will be in God’s graces always and especially on the Day of Judgment. They ask that their Lord does not allow defeat or humiliation touch them on that day, and they reiterate their trust that Allah never reneges on His promises.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Rabbana: Our nurturing Lord
Note: the root is R-B-B and it means nurturing and Lordship as two components of the meaning that can be present together or one at a time according to the context of the sentence. RABBA is nurturing Lord of. NA means our or us.
Waatina: and bring us/ and give us
Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA is often translated as an addition (and), but inclusion probably covers the meaning a little better. ATINA is derived from the root Hamza-T-Y and it means in concrete the water that comes from the rain of another land. In a conceptual manner, it means the coming of something or someone with many of it’s implications. ATI is a request addressed to a singular by a group. It means: make come to us or in short bring us/ give us.
Ma: what
waAAadtana: you (singular) promised us
Note: the root is W-Ain-D and it means promise as a concept that accepts different meanings that revolve around that theme. WaAADTA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of promising happened by the subject (second person singular) to the object NA= us.
AAala: on/ upon
Rusulika: your messengers/ your envoys
Note: the root is R-S-L and it means to envoy someone or a group of people or animals. The concrete word is RASL and it means a group of people or animals that were sent by their owners or senders. RUSULI means envoys or messengers of. KA means singular you.
Wala: and not/ including not
Tukhzina: you make us humiliated/ defeated
Note: The root is KH-Z-Y and it means defeat and humiliation and embarrassment. TUKHZI is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of defeating or humiliating the object (NA= us) is happening or will be happening by the subject (second person singular). WALA TUKHZINA takes the meaning= and do not make us humiliated/defeated.
Yawma: Day of/ day when
Note: the root is Y-W-M and it means day. YAWM means a day and it spans a day and night cycle. YAWMA means: day of or day when.
Alqiyamati: the rising/ the standing upright
Note: the root is Q-W-M and it means standing upright. ALQIYAMATI is the standing upright or upright standing. This is a term that is used for the Day of Judgment because we all stand in front of GOD. YAWMA ALQIYAMATI is the judgment day.
Innaka: indeed you (singular)
La: not
Tukhlifu: renege/ put behind
Note: the root is KH-L-F and it means behind in time or place or any other plane of thought. For time, it takes the meaning of what happens after or the future. TUKHLIFU is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of making the object (almeeAAada= the promise) behind is happening or will be happening by the subject (second person singular). Here, the “putting behind” takes the meaning of reneging.
almeeAAada: the time and place of promise/ the promise
Note: the root is W-Ain-D and it means promise as a concept that accepts different meanings that revolve around that theme. ALMeeAAaDA means in concrete time and/or place of promise but conceptually, it extends beyond that to promise itslef. This takes the meaning of appointment at times, but here, it takes the meaning of the promise itself.

Take care and have a great day.

3:193

Salaam all,

This is Aya 3:193
رَّبَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي لِلإِيمَانِ أَنْ آمِنُواْ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَآمَنَّا رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الأبْرَارِ
Rabbana innana samiAAna munadiyan yunadee lileemani an aminoo birabbikum faamanna rabbana faighfir lana thunoobana wakaffir AAanna sayyiatina watawaffana maAAa alabrari

The Aya says:
Our nurturing Lord: We heard a caller, calling for the safety. That make yourselves safe in your nurturing Lord, therefore we made ourselves safe. Our Nurturing Lord then provide us protective cover from our sins, and bury our hated entities (words and deeds) away from us, and take us with the firmly grounded (in your love and worship).

My personal note:
I translated IGHFIR which is usually translated as forgive as provide us protective cover. This is because protective cover is the more encompassing meaning which includes forgiveness (protection from the effect of sin), but also protection from falling again in the sin.
ALABRAR, which I translated as firmly grounded can also be understood, as the ones who did all the right things in their love and worship of Allah. I used firmly grounded because it covers the same meaning, but also because it relates to the concrete meaning of the word BRR= firm ground.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Rabbana: our nurturing lord
Note: the root is R-B-B and it means nurturing and Lordship as two components of the meaning that can be present together or one at a time according to the context of the sentence. RABBA is nurturing Lord of. NA means our or us.
Innana: indeed we
samiAAna: Heard/ heard and comprehended
Note: The root is S-M-Ain and and it means hearing or hearing and understanding or knowing and retaining at the same time. SAMiAANA is an action that is derived from the root and that is completed. It means: The hearing and understanding happened by the subject (first person plural)
Munadiyan: a caller/ a deliverer of a call
Note: the root is N-D-Y and it means in concrete dew or water touching a surface. It is also used for voice arriving to an entity. In both, the shared meaning is something touching or arriving at another entity. In this instance, it is the calling. MUNADIYAN is a person who calls or delivers a calling.
Yunadee: He calls
Note: the root is N-D-Y and it means in concrete dew or water touching a surface. It is also used for voice arriving to an entity. In both, the shared meaning is something touching or arriving at another entity. In this instance, it is the calling. YUNADEE is an action that is happening or will be happening. It means the action of calling is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person singular).
Lileemani: to the safety
Note: Li means to. ALEEMANI is derived from the root Hamza-M-N and it means safety. ALEEMANANI is the safety or trust.
An: that
Aminoo: you (plural) make yourselves safe
Note: AMINOO is derived from the root Hamza-M-N and it means safety. AMINOO is an order addressing a group of people. It means: make yourselves safe or trust.
Birabbikum: in your nurturing Lord/ by your nurturing Lord
Note: Bi denotes that what comes after is a tool and/or an object or an association with an action that was mentioned. If it is an object of the action then it makes it stronger. RABBIKUM is derived from the root R-B-B and it means nurturing and Lordship as two components of the meaning that can be present together or one at a time according to the context of the sentence. RABBI is nurturing Lord of. KUM means plural you.
Faamanna: therefore, we made ourselves safe.
Note: FA means so or therefore or then. AMANNA is derived from the root Hamza-M-N and it means safe or safety. AMANNA is an action that is derived from the root and that is completed. It means: the action of making the object (not mentioned and therefore the subject and the object can be the same entity here) become safe happened by the subject (first person plural). So, it ends up meaning: We made ourselves safe.
Rabbana: Our nurturing Lord
Note: the root is R-B-B and it means nurturing and Lordship as two components of the meaning that can be present together or one at a time according to the context of the sentence. RABBA is nurturing Lord of. NA means our or us.
Faighfir: then forgive/ then provide protective cover
Note: the root GH-F-R and it means the helmet of the soldier in the battle. This one of the concrete words and the word is therefore used to mean protective covering in many fashions as in protecting the person from the error or protecting the person from the consequence of error and that is forgiveness. IGHFIR is a request/ order addressed to a singular (here God) asking Him to perform the action of making protective cover/ providing protective cover or forgiving.
Lana: to us/ for us
Thunoobana: our sins
Note: THUNOOBANA is derived from the root th-n-b and it means tail of an animal. However, it also has the meaning of sin or crime or error. Thunooba means sins or crimes of. NA means us.
Wakaffir: and make buried/ make covered.
Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA is often translated as an addition (and), but inclusion probably covers the meaning a little better. KAFFIR is derived from the root K-F-R and it means cover or bury in the ground, as in put the seed in the ground and cover it. KAFFIRU is a request addressed to a singular. It means: make buried/ make covered.
AAanna: from us/ away from us.
Note: AAan has multiple meanings that are determined by the context. It has the general meaning of about. However, at times, it takes the meaning of away from. The determinants are the sentence and the verbs or actions that precede the AAan. This is the case here.
Sayyiatina: hated entities/ hated or ugly words or deeds
Note: the root is S-Y-Hamza and it means hated word or deed or feeling. It can also mean ugly or vulnerable. All the meanings are linked somehow by one concept. This word then means different things according to the plane of thought that is being talked about. SAYYIATI is hated entities of or hated words or deeds or ugly words or deeds.
Watawaffana: and make us meet our dues/ and make us die/ and take us
Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA is often translated as an addition (and), but inclusion probably covers the meaning a little better. TAWAFFANA is derived from the root W-F-Y and it means meeting dues. This then takes different meanings according to the plane of thought of the sentence. One meaning could be death since it is a meeting of dues, or just a taking of someone or something depending on the situation. TAWAFFANA is a request addressed to a singular. It means: make us meet our dues and this could mean death and possibly, other things that fall within the general of meeting dues.
maAAa: with
alabrari: The firmly grounded/ the ones with safe landing/ the dependable people.
Note: this is a word that is difficult to translate. In concrete the root B-R-R means land/firm ground as opposed to sea. As a concept, it gives different meanings as in the safe thing to do, the dependable thing to do and the obeisance to orders. ALABRARAI are the ones who are firmly grounded/ the dependable ones/ the ones with safe landing and so on of conceptual meanings.

Salaam all and have a great day.

The Aya says:
Our nurturing Lord, indeed, whomever, you make enter Hell, then you have humiliated/defeated him. And there are no supporters for the transgressors.

My personal note:
It continues what those people would say in their prayers. It points that those who enter Hell are people humiliated and defeated, by their own transgression and they will have no support.

Translation of the transliterated words:

ALTHTHALIMEENA are the ones in darkness, the transgressors or the mis-placers of right and wrong.

Note: the root is N-Sad-R and it means aid at a time of need. ANSARIN are the supporters at a time of need or just supporters.

Salaam all,

This is 3:190
إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلاَفِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لآيَاتٍ لِّأُوْلِي الألْبَابِ
Inna fee khalqi alssamawati waalardi waikhtilafi allayli waalnnahari laayatin liolee alalbabi

The Aya says:
Indeed, in (the) creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and day, are signs for people of healthy minds and hearts.

My personal note:
OOLI ALALBABI are people who resort as their ultimate resource to a healthy way of looking at things and of studying. This means that their vision is not hindered by bias or minimally hindered by it. The Aya mentions that those people can see and understand the significance of the signs of God.

IKHTILAF is the process of putting one entity behind another in time or place. Here, it talks about the night and day and it is the alternation of the two.
Allayli: the night
Note: the root is L-Y-L and it means night. ALLAYLI means the night.

Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. ALNNAHARI is derived from the root N-H-R and one of the concrete meanings of the word is running water or river. It is then used to mean running or flowing in many other meanings and contexts according to the sentence. ALNAHARI means the daytime and it’s relationship to the flowing could be due to the fact that the day is the time when our activities are “flowing” or because of the flow of the light in it.
Laayatin: indeed signs
Note: LA means indeed or for stress of what is coming after it. AYATIN is derived from the root Hamza-Y-H and it means sign. AYATIN means signs.

And as Allah took the assurance of the ones who were given the book that you (plural) shall make it clear to the people and not suppress it. Then they discarded it behind their backs and took in exchange for it a little price. Therefore, bad, is what they took in exchange.

My personal note:
This Aya contains a rule that Allah sent to the people who were given the book before us including Jews and Christians. The rule is let all the book known and clarified to all the people and never hide any knowledge. This rule applied to them and it applies to Muslims since are now also given “the book”. Note: the root is Ghain-R-R and it means false or uncertain and it can take the meaning of tricky. ALGHUROORI are the ones who follow the falsehood or the trickiness or the uncertain as opposed the safe and true and certain.

Salaam all and have a great day.

3:184

Salaam all,

This is 3:184
فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآؤُوا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالزُّبُرِ وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُنِيرِ
Fain kaththabooka faqad kuththiba rusulun min qablika jaoo bialbayyinati waalzzuburi waalkitabi almuneeri

The Aya says:
So, if they declared you (singular) untrue, then indeed were declared untrue messengers from before you (singular). They came with the clarifiers, including the psalms and the light emitting book.

My personal note:
This is a continuation of the previous Aya where it declares that many messengers came before with all the clear signs of messenger-ship including well written books that are full of light and they were rejected and declared untrue by their people.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Fain: therefore if/ so if
Kaththabooka: they declared you (singular) untrue/ a lie
Note: the root is K-TH-B and it means a lie or not true. KATHTHABOO is an action that is completed. It means: the action of making the object (ka= singular you) untrue happened by the subject (third person plural). The making of the object untrue here takes the meaning of declaring the object untrue or a lie.
Faqad: then indeed
Kuththiba: were declared untrue
Note: the root is K-TH-B and it means a lie or not true. KUTHTHIA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of making the object (rusulun= messengers or envoys) untrue happened by an undeclared subject. The making of the object untrue here takes the meaning of declaring the object untrue or a lie.
RUSULUN: messengers/ envoys
Note: the root is R-S-L and it means to envoy someone or a group of people or animals. The concrete word is RASL and it means a group of people or animals that were sent by their owners or senders. RUSULUN means envoys or messengers.
Min: from
Qablika: before you (singular)
Note: the root Qaf-B-L and it means front. This is then carried in time or space or any plain of thought. If it is in time, then front means before, while place would be in front. It is used to mean acceptance and reception since we receive and accept using our fronts. QABLI here is front in time and that is before of. KA is a singular you
Jaoo: they came
Note: the root is J-Y-Hamza and it means coming. One concrete word that is derived from this word is the pool where the rain water comes. JAOO is an action that is completed and that is derived from the root. It means that the action of coming happened by the subject (third person plural).
Bialbayyinati: with the clarifiers/ by the clarifiers
Note: Bi denotes that what comes after is a tool and/or an object or an association with an action that was mentioned. If it is an object of the action then it makes it stronger. ALBAYYINATI is derived from the route B-Y-N and it means between. This word then assumes many meanings as separation and distancing between two or more things. It also carries the meaning of clarification between two things. Here, it adopts the meaning of clarification. ALBAYYINATI means the clarifiers or clarifications.
Waalzzuburi: and the psalms/ including the psalms
Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA is often translated as an addition (and), but inclusion probably covers the meaning a little better. ALZZUBURI is derived from the root Z-B-R and it means in a conceptual manner, when the entity has good qualities as a man with great thought power, the hard rock and the well written book. ALZZUBURI is generally used to point to the psalms of David, but it can be used as well to any well written book,
Waalkitabi: and the book/ including the book
Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA is often translated as an addition (and), but inclusion probably covers the meaning a little better. ALKITABI is derived from the root K-T-B and it means putting things together as in grouping the herd together or closing the lips or writing (the most common use), because in writing, one puts the letters and the ideas together. ALKITABI means, the process of writing or the book or anything related to it from the ideas to the ink and paper to the place where all is put together.
Almuneeri: the making of light/ the producer of light
Note: the root is N-W-R and it means lighting. This could be lighting light or lighting fire according to the word and the context. ALMUNEER is the entity that makes light.

Salaam all and have a great day.
