1:4 مالك يوم الدين
.[1:4]
Maliki yawmi alddeeni
Maliki: Owner of
Yawmi: Day
Alddeeni: The Judgement/The obligation
The word Deen and it’s derivatives come with different meanings in the Qur’an. They all have the same root DEEN. The meanings were Religion, Judgement, Debt. In Hebrew the word means LAW. Therefore the essence of the Root, to me, is OBLIGATION which is consistent with all the other meanings, and will be my preferred word (and GOD knows best)
My Note:
Owner of the day of the obligation(The day that all are obligated to attend. And/ or the day when all will face their obligations to GOD, whether they met them or not. All is consistent with the day of Judgement)
We shall meet tomorrow inshallah
hussein
