9:63

أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّهُ مَن يُحَادِدِ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَأَنَّ لَهُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا فِيهَا ذَلِكَ الْخِزْيُ الْعَظِيمُ
Alam yaAAlamoo annahu man yuhadidi Allaha warasoolahu faanna lahu nara jahannama khalidan feeha thalika alkhizyu alAAatheemu

The Aya says:
Have they not know that whoever breaches with Allah and His messenger then to him belongs the fire of Hell, staying in it. That is the great humiliation.

My personal note:
The Aya is a reminder that we as humans should not breach in our relationship with Allah and nor should we play with His boundaries that He set for us. It is also good to remember that Allah’s straight path is wider than we think and not that narrow that we can easily fall off of it unless we really want to and are working hard to leave it.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Alam: have they not?
Note: this word is a question with the negative.
yaAAlamoo: known
Note: YaAALAMOO is derived from the root Ain-L-M and it means knowing/knowledge or knowledge of facts. YaAALAMOO is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of knowing is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person plural).

Annahu: that
Man: whoever/ who
Yuhadidi: fights/ takes as enemy/ breaches boundaries
Note: the root is Ha-D-D and it means limit and boundaries. YUHADIDI is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of breaching boundaries of the object (Allah) is happening in an interactive manner or will be happening by the subject (third person singular). Here, breaching the boundaries is a pointer to fighting and taking as enemy and so on.
Allaha: Allah
warasoolahu: and his messenger/ and His envoy
Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA is often translated as an addition (and), but inclusion probably covers the meaning a little better. RASOOLIHI is derived from the root R-S-L and it means to envoy someone or a group of people or animals. The concrete word is RASL and it means a group of people or animals that were sent by their owners or senders. RUSULUN means messengers of and is the plural of RASOOL who is the one that is sent and is used to mean the messenger because he was sent by the sender to the receiver. RASOOLA means messenger of or the envoy of. HU means him and it points to Allah.

Note: the root is N-W-R and it means lighting. This could be lighting light or lighting fire according to the word and the context. NARA means fire of.

Jahannama: Gehenna
Note: that is one of the names of the hell fire or some location within it.
khalidan: Staying unchanged / remaining
Note: the root is KH-L-D and it means something that stays the same. In concrete, it is used for the rocks and the mountains that seem to be unchanged through the ages. KHALIDAN means staying unchanged. This basically means that they reside forever with no change in their predicament.

Alkhizyu: the humiliation/ embarrassment
Note: the root is KH-Z-Y and it means being overpowered, emabarrassed or humiliated. ALKHIZYU means humiliating and embarrassing and putting in a situation that is bad

alAAatheemu: the great
Note: the root is Ain-TH-M and it means great/hard/strong. The concrete word is AAaTHM and that is the bones or the hard/strong/firm core of things. AAaTHEEM means great.
