 وَٱنْتَظِرُوۤاْ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ

Wantathiroo inna muntathiroon

 

The Aya says:

And wait, we are waiting

 

My personal note:

Really does not need more explanation

 

Translation of the transliterated words:

Wantathiroo: and wait/ and aniticipate

Note: WA here is for continuation of the subject.  INTATHIROO is derived from the root N-THa-R and it means seeing/observing/watching with one side of the meaning stronger than the others according to the situation. At times it means giving reprieve or giving time to correct things and that stems from the observing/watching as if it is time of observation/watching or waiting or given time.  INTATHIROO is an order or a request addressed to a group.  It means: Wait or anticipate.

Inna: We

Muntathiroon: Waiting/ anticipation

Note: the root is N-THa-R and it means seeing/observing/watching with one side of the meaning stronger than the others according to the situation.  وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ ٱعْمَلُواْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنَّا عَامِلُونَ

 

Waqul lillatheena laa yu'minoona iAAmaloo AAalaa makanatikum innaa AAaamiloon

 

The Aya says:

And say (O Muhammad) to those who do not have faith: “Work according to your to your situation, we are working”.

 

My personal note:

The statement tells them that each will function according to their belief and implies that both will eventually know who is right and who is wrong.

 

Translation of transliterated words:

Waqul: and say / and communicate

Note: WA here is for starting a sentence.  QUL is derived from the root Qaf-W-L and it means saying in any way possible. QUL is a demand or request addressed to a singular.  It means: say.   

Lillatheena: to those who

La: not

yu'minoona: have safety/ trust/ faith

Note: YUMINOON is derived from the root Hamza-M-N Hamza-M-N and it means safe or safety. YUMINOO is an action that is derived from the root and that is completed. It means: the action of making the subject become safe is happening or will be happening.   Because it is preceded by the la for negation the la Yu’mioon means do not have faith/ trust

iAAmaloo: do/ work

Note: the root is Ain-M-L and it means doing or work. iAAMALOO is an order or request addressing a group.  It means do or work.

 

'alaa: upon/ in here it takes the meaning of according to

Makaanatikum: your position/ your way

Note: the root is M-K-N and it means when the lizard or locust or any other animal put down her eggs either in their stomach or in a nest. The term is then conceptually taken as the place of safety and strong protection. MAKANATIKUM means your position and your way and so forth.

Innaa: We/ We indeed

'aamiloon: working/ doing

Note: the root is Ain-M-L and it means doing or work.  aAAMILOON is a state of being.  It means working/ doing.

11:120

 وَكُـلاًّ نَّقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنْبَاءِ ٱلرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهِ فُؤَادَكَ وَجَآءَكَ فِي هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَوْعِظَةٌ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

 

Wakullan naqussu 'alaika min anbaa'I RRusuli ma nuthabbitu bihi fu'adak wajaa'aka fee haathihi lhaqqu wa maw'ithatun wathikraa lilmu'mineen

 

The Aya says:

And each we narrate to you (O Muhammad) of the news of the messengers what anchors your heart.  And came with this the to you binding truth and advice and reminder to the people of faith.

My personal note:

The Aya explains the reasons for narrating previous stories.  They anchor our belief and advise us and remind us.

 

Translation of the transliterated words:

Wakullan: and each/ and every

Note: WA is for starting a new connected sentence. KULLAN is derived from the root K-L-L and it means the parts put together. This is the concrete and it means all or every or each. It can also be extended conceptually to mean the parts surrounding an entity. KULLAN means each.

 

Naqussu: We narrate/ we share snippets

Note: NAQUSSU is derived from the root Qaf-Sad-Sad and it means cutting in concrete as in cutting hair or other things. Concpetually it is also used in telling a story because it is a cutting of the bigger story of life. NAQUSSUHU is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the narrating of events is happening or will be happening by the subject (first person plural)

'alaika: upon you (singular)

 

Min: of/ from

anbaa'I: News of/ information of / stories of

Note: the root is N-B-Hamza and it means news. ANBA’I means news of/ story of/ information of. 

 

RRusuli: the messengers/ the envoys

Note: ARRRUSULI is derived from the root R-S-L and it means to envoy someone or a group of people or animals. The concrete word is RASL and it means a group of people or animals that were sent by their owners or senders. ARRUSULI means the messengers or the envoys of Allah.

 

Ma: what

Nuthabbitu: We steady/ We anchor

Note: NUTHABBITU is derived from the root TH-B-T and it means steadiness and being well entrenched or anchored so that it cannot be uprooted and so forth. NUTHABBITU is an action that happening or will be happening.  It means the action of steadying/ anchoring the object (Fuadaka= your heart) is happening or will be happening by the subject (first person plural).

 

Bihi: by it/ through him

Note: BI signifies an attachment or close linkage between what is before and what is after it.  In a Verbal sentence it can mean attachment to the action or to the subject as it does the action.  This attachment can then signify many things according to the verb and to the sentence and so on.  In here the context suggests a tool.  HI means Him or it and it points to the narrating of the stories of the previous messengers. 

 fu'adak: your (singular) heart/ your energy/ your drive

Note: The root is F-Hamza-D and it means the oven or the fire with which one cooks or grills and so on. Conceptually, It is used for the source of energy within us and so on and that is used for the heart or the heart of the heart. FU’ADA means heart or energy or drive of.  KA is singular your.

wajaa'aka: and came to you (singular)

Note: WA here is for starting a related sentence.  JAA’KA is derived from the root J-Y-Hamza and it means coming. One concrete word that is derived from this word is the pool where the rain water comes. JAA is an action that is completed and that is derived from the root. It means that the action of coming to the object (KA= singular you) happened by the subject (third person singular).

 

Fee: in/ on

Haathihi: this

lhaqqu: the true/ the bindingly true

Note: ALHAQQU is derived from the root Note: the root is Ha-Qaf-Qaf and it means binding right where right means correct as well s what is due to one person (rights and obligations). ALHAQQ means binding right or binding truth.

 wamaw'ithatun: and advice/ councel

Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA often corresponds with “and/ addition” but the more encompassing meaning is in inclusion one in another or all in a bigger picture or sentence. MAWaIITHATUN is derived from the root W-Ain-THA and it means advice or advising and it can include a soft warning or firm advice of some consequences as well as reminders of rewards and so forth.  MAWaIITHATUN means advice/ councel.

Wathikraa: and reminder/ including reminder

Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA often corresponds with “and/ addition” but the more encompassing meaning is in inclusion one in another or all in a bigger picture or sentence.  THIKRAA is derived from the root TH-K-R and it means mention and remember, at the same time. The concrete word is something running on the tongue as if speaking it. Another concrete word is male or the male organ. The relationship between the two is not very clear and they can be different words that share the sound but have different root. It could be that the male is considered the active organ and that memory is an active process, but that is only a theory.  THIKRA means reminder/ mentioning and so on

 

lilmu'mineen: to the ones who have faith/ the ones who work on faith

 

Note: LI means to or for.  ALMUMINEEN is derived from the root is derived from the root Hamza-M-N and it means safe or safety.  MUMINEENA are those who are on the path of safety in Allah and those are the faithful or working on their faith.

11:119

إِلاَّ مَن رَّحِمَ رَبُّكَ وَلِذٰلِكَ خَلَقَهُمْ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لأَمْلأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ

 

Illa man rahima Rabbuk wa lithalika khalaqahum wa tammat Kalimatu Rabbika la amla'ana Jahannama mina aljinnati wannnaasi ajma'een

 

The Aya says:

Except those whom your nurturing Lord graces and for that He created them.  And your Nurturing Lord’s statement is finalized “I will fill Hell with the Jinn and Humans gathered together”

 

My personal note:

The Aya continues the previous verse regarding human conflict and that conflict can be between individuals or in the same individual.  This verse tells us that Humans graced with Allah’s mercy will not have internal conflict nor are they people to look for or incite conflicts with others.  The believer is supposed to be at peace within and outside.  This does not mean that they will not conflict with others but they are not ones to incite it or to treat others with injustice.

 

The Aya also points “and for that He created them”.  This can point to creating us diverse and also creating us in potential conflicts but also looking for resolutions with His help and so on.

 

The last part tells us that Hell will be full of Humans.  That is not a reason for us to despair for those of us who seek Allah’s Grace and Mercy will receive it as they work on it.

 

Translation of the transliterated words:

Illa: except/ if not

Man: who

Rahima: He granted mercy/ He granted grace

Note: RAHIMA is derived from the root R-Ha-M and it means womb in concrete. This can be extended to all the positive qualities that the womb provides to the fetus.  RAHIMA is an action that is completed.  It means: the action of gracing or having mercy on the object (MAN=who) happened by the subject (third person singular pointing to Allah)

 

Rabbuk: Your nurturing Lord

Note: RABBUKA is derived from the root R-B-B and it means nurturing and Lordship as two components of the meaning that can be present together or one at a time according to the context of the sentence.   RABBU is nurturing Lord of.  KA means singular you.

Walithalika: and for this/ and for that

Note: WA here means and.  LI means to or for.  Thalika means this or that.

Khalaqahum: He created them

Note: the root is KH-L-Qaf and it means creating and creation. The word has many little other meanings that revolve around that theme, in concrete, it means the smoothened rock that was shaped that way, so it has the cutting and shaping and making things as part of the meaning as well as creating out of nothing as well.  KHALAQA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of creating or shaping the object (HUM= them) happened by the subject (third person singular).

 

Watammat: and perfected/ and completed/ and finalized

Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA often corresponds with “and/ addition” but the more encompassing meaning is in inclusion one in another or all in a bigger picture or sentence. TAMMAT is derived from the root T-M-M and it means to become complete or perfect or reach the best potential. In concrete it is used for the moon when it is most full, or the night when it is at it’s longest and so on. Conceptually, it is taken to mean complete or perfect or reaching the best potential. TAMMAT is an action that is completed. It means: the action of become completed/ finalized/ perfect happened to the subject (third person singular)

Kalimatu: Statement of/ judgement of/ phrase of

Note: KALIMATU is derived from the root K-L-M and it means wound or opening of the skin and that is the concrete word. It is also used to mean words or statements because those are the products of the opening of the mouth, which is an opening of the skin. Here it is used for word or statement. KALIMATU means statement of.

 

Rabbika: your nurturing Lord

Note: the root is R-B-B and it means nurturing and Lordship as two components of the meaning that can be present together or one at a time according to the context of the sentence.   RABBI is nurturing Lord of.  KA is for singular you.

 la amla'anna: I will indeed fill

Note: LA here is for emphasis.  AMLA’ANNA is derived from the root M-L-Hamza and it means filling or full. MALAI means the leaders or the big group. This is related to the full because the big group has the feeling of being full and the leaders are full of authority and supposed wisdom. AMLA’ANNA is an action that is happening or will be happening.  It means the action of filling the object (Jahannam= hell) is happening or going to happen with emphasis by the subject (First person singular).

Jahannama: Gehenna/ Hell

Mina: of/ from

Aljinnati: the Jinn/ The hidden people

Note: ALJINNATI is derived from the root J-N-N and it means hidden or hiding. It is therefore used to mean darkness because it hides as well as garden because gardens can be hidden or because it has less light than the place out in the sun for the Arabs of the desert. ALJINNATI means:  the hidden people and is the group in Arab and Islamic parlance pointed to as JINN.

 

Wannnaasi: and humans/ and visible people

Note: WA here is for contrasting.  ALNASSI is derived from the root Hamza-N-S and it means socializing. ALNNAS means the people or humans or the society.  Here because of the contrast to the hidden people, it takes the meaning of the visible or humans as opposed to the other category.

ajma'een: all/ collectively/ gathered together

 

Note: the root is J-M-Ain and it means gather the different parts together or putting things together. AJMaAAeeN means together or all.

وَلَوْ شَآءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلاَ يَزَالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ

 

Walaw sha'a Rabbuka laja'aala  Annnaasa ummatan wahidatan wa la yazaloona mukhtalifeen

 

The Aya says:

And had your nurturing Lord willed He would have made the people united and they do not cease to dispute.

 

My personal note:

The Aya mentioned that if Allah willed then people will be united.  However, because Allah did not will it then people continue to be of different forms of ideologies and other forms of differences that lead to our disputes.  So, Allah left it to us as humans to work through our differences and resolve our conflicts.

 

Translation of the transliterated words:

 

Walaw: and if

sha'a: He Willed

Note: the root is Sh-Y-Hamza and it means entity. SHA’A is an action that is completed that is derived from the root. It means that the action of entitying happened by the subject (third person singular). Therefore it means: He entitied and in this context, it takes the meaning He willed

 Rabbuka: your nurturing Lord

Note: RABBUKA is derived from the root R-B-B and it means nurturing and Lordship as two components of the meaning that can be present together or one at a time according to the context of the sentence.   RABBU is nurturing Lord of.  KA means singular you.

 laja'aala: then He would have made/ shaped/ formed

Note: LA is a response to the conditional that preceded.  JaAALA is derived from the root J-Ain-L and it means making, forming or transforming something that already exists or that has not existed yet.  It can also mean providing an attribute or designation to an entity. Conceptually, it takes the meaning of transformation/ designation more often than formation. JaAAaLA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of forming or transforming/ manipulating the object (ANNAS= the people/ society) by the subject (third person singular).

 

 Annnasa: the people/ the society

Note: ALNASSA is derived from the root Hamza-N-S and it means socializing. ALNNAS means the people or humans or the society.

 

Ummatan: a nation/ an ideology/ outlook

Note: UMAMIN is derived from the root Hamza-M-M and it means mother or sources/origin if said as UMM and destination if said as AMM. UMMA means in this context nation and that is because it is a group that have the same origin and is moving to the same destination.  Often times it points to outlook and ideology and so on.  UMMATAN is a nation united by ideology or outlook.

 

Wahidatan: single/ one

WAHIDATAN means one Note: the root is W-Ha-D and it means one.

 Wala: and not

Yazaloona: cease/ stop

Note: the root is Z-W-L and it means ceasing to exist or ceasing. YAZALOON is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: The action of ceasing is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person plural).

Mukhtalifeen: differing/ in conflict

 

Note: MUKHTALIFOON is derived from the root  KH-L-F and it means behind in time or place or any other plane of thought. For time, it takes the meaning of what happens after or the future. MUKHTALIFOON means in conflict or dispute or differing.

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ

 

Wama kana Rabbuka liyuhlika alqura bithulmin wa ahluha muslihoon

 

The Aya says:

And your nurturing Lord was not to demolish the towns through injustice while their people are beneficent.

 

My personal note:

The Aya reassures us that Allah is not haphazard in deciding who to punish and who not to.  Allah does not punish the societies that are just and the ones that do good.

 

Translation of the transliterated words:

 

Wama: and not

Kana: was/ happened to be

Note: It is derived from the root K-W-N and it means being.  KANA is an action that is completed that is derived from the root. It means: the action of being happened by the subject (third personal singular). 

 

Rabbuka: your nurturing Lord

Note: RABBUKA is derived from the root R-B-B and it means nurturing and Lordship as two components of the meaning that can be present together or one at a time according to the context of the sentence.   RABBU is nurturing Lord of.  KA means singular you.

 Liyuhlika: to demolish/ to make perish

Note: Li means to.  YUHLIKA is derived from the root H-L-K and it means dried and dead plant. This is the concrete and the abstract means death and perdition or gone or gone away. YUHLIK is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of causing destruction to the object (ALQURA= the towns) is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person singular)

 

Alqura: the towns/ the villages

Note: the root is Qaf-R-Y and it means the piece of land that is undivided or the body of water which collects water from the valleys and where people congregate to drink and water their animals. This is the concrete and it can be conceptually extended to mean town or village since the town or village is located where the water is located and it is a collection of people in it. ALQURA means the towns or villages.

 

Bithulmin: in injustice/ with injustice

Note: BI signifies an attachment or close linkage between what is before and what is after it.  In a Verbal sentence it can mean attachment to the action or to the subject as it does the action.  This attachment can then signify many things according to the verb and to the sentence and so on.  In this sentence it signifies tools of why they were taken.  THULMIN is derived from the root THa-L-M and it means darkness in the most concrete form. This word also takes the meaning of misplacing right from wrong and transgression or injustice since injustice is displacing right from wrong and a decision made in darkness.  THULM here means injustice.

 

Wa: while

Note: here the Wa takes the meaning of while or in the meantime.

Ahluha: their people/ their inhabitants

Note: AHLUHA the root is Hamza-H-L and one concrete meaning of the word is the fat that surrounds the back of the animal. It is used conceptually to mean family or any of the people that are closely associated with the entity being discussed. This could be because they are like the fat as in they engulf and protect and so forth and gain protection at the same time. AHLU means people of or family of.  HA means her or their and points to the towns.

 

Muslihoon: beneficent/ engaged in acts of goodness

Note: MUSLIHOON is derived from the root Sad-L-Ha and it means becoming helpful or useful in a good direction. This means mainly: becoming one of benefit as in benefiting oneself and others. Included in this meaning is becoming fixed after having been broken.  MUSLIHOON then are people who do the acts of righteousness/ good deeds and deeds of benefit and reconciliation
