Salaam all,
This is 3:35
إِذْ قَالَتِ امْرَأَةُ عِمْرَانَ رَبِّ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِي بَطْنِي مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّي إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Ith qalati imraatu AAimrana rabbi innee nathartu laka ma fee batnee muharraran fataqabbal minnee innaka anta alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
The Aya says:
As Imran’s wife said: “My nurturing Lord, I dedicated to You what is in my stomach, made free (of any other obligation). Therefore, accept from me. Verily, You (are) the all listening, the all knowing.
My personal note:
Here, the wife of Imran had dedicated what she was carrying in her pregnancy to God. The word Muharraran is understood as made free. It is to mean that the child is free of any other obligation or attachment except being dedicated to God.
Translation of the transliterated words:
Ith: As
Qalati: She said:
Note: the root is Qaf-WL and it means saying. QALATI is an action that is completed. It means the action of saying happened by the subject (third person singular feminine).
Imraatu: woman of/ wife of
Note: The root M-R-Hamza and it means a man and the feminine of the word is IMRAA. IMRAATU means woman of and here means wife of.
AAimrana: Imran
Rabbi: My nurturing Lord
Note: Note: the root is R-B-B and it means lordship and nurturing at the same time. It gives authority and nurture at the same time. RABBI is used here for calling: My nurturing Lord.
Innee: I
Nathartu: dedicated
Note: the root is N-TH-R and it means self imposed consequence. This means that a person will say that I will do this if this happened or that a person will have a consequence happen to him/her if another event happened. NATHARTU is an action that is completed that is derived from the root. It means: the action of self imposition of consequence happened by the subject (first person singular). In this sentence, it takes the meaning of a promise and dedication.
Laka: to you
Ma: what
Fee: in
Batnee: my stomach/ my inside
Note: the root is B-TTA-N and it means inside or stomach. It takes the meaning according to the plane of thought and carries the meaning of the real stomach or anything inside including secrets and so forth. BATNEE means my stomach or my inside.
Muharraran: made free (of any other attachment)
Note: the root is Ha-R-R and it means heat or warmth in concrete and it also means freedom or being unhooked or unattached and so forth. MUHARRARAN here means made free of any attachment or any other obligation
Fataqabbal: So accept/ so make accepted
Note: FA means so or therefore or then. TAQABBAL is derived from the root Qaf-B-L and it means front. This is then carried in time or space or any plain of thought. TAQABBAL is an order form addressing a singular masculine. It means make fronting and in here it takes the meaning of accept. The relationship between accepting and fronting is that people give the front for acceptance and their back for refusal.
Minnee: from me
Innaka: Verily You
Anta: You (added for stressing a point)
alssameeAAu: The all listening
Note: the root is S-M-Ain and it means hear or listen. The word has in it the absorption of the words and the understanding of them as to generate the appropriate response. AlSameeAAu is the one that listens a lot or the all listening.
alAAaleemu: The all knowing
Note: the root is Ain-L-M and it means knowledge or knowing. ALAAaLEEMU means the all knowing.
Salaam all and have a great day
Hussein
