2:91

This is 2:91
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ آمِنُواْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُواْ نُؤْمِنُ بِمَآ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَيَكْفُرونَ بِمَا وَرَآءَهُ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ قُلْ فَلِمَ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنْبِيَآءَ اللَّهِ مِن قَبْلُ إِن كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِينَ
Wa-itha qeela lahum aminoo bimaanzala Allahu qaloo nu/minu bima onzilaAAalayna wayakfuroona bima waraahu wahuwa alhaqqumusaddiqan lima maAAahum qul falima taqtuloonaanbiyaa Allahi min qablu in kuntum mu/mineena

Note:
The Aya says “And if it was said to them (Israelites): trust in what The GOD made arrive (message). They said: We trust in what was sent on us, and they cover their minds at what is behind it. And He (The message that is behind the Israelites’ message) is the Right (true and the right of GOD on people) declaring true to what is with them (Israelites). Say (order to Muhammad): So, why do you kill the prophets of the GOD from before if you were trusting (in them and their messages?”

My personal note:
The Aya addresses a dialogue between some of the Israelites and the prophet. That when some of the Israelites are asked to trust in the new message, they will say that they trust their message. GOD then says that they (Israelites) cover their minds from what is behind (it’s skin, which means later in timing and also depth because what is behind the skin is the deep cavity of the body). GOD reiterates that this new message is the Right (ALHAQQ which is a word that combines truth and rights). The Aya ends with a question to be posed on the Israelites and the question asks: Why did you kill the prophets if you trusted in them and their message?

The question is important, because it challenges the Israelites into contemplating that what they accept as from GOD, was refused before by some of their ancestors. This is a reminder that not every message that was refused deserved to be refused.

This challenge, although addressing the Israelites, applies to all of us. The big message is again that we should never cover our minds from GOD’s message.

Translation of the Transliterated words:
Wa-itha: And if
Qeela: Was said
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means to say for the verb and saying for the noun. QEEL is a form of the verb that means Was said.
Lahum: To them
Amino: Make yourself safe/trust
Note: the root is Hamza-M-N and it means to become safe for the verb and safety for the noun. AMINOO is an order form of a verb that addresses a group of people and that means make yourselves safe which means trust.
Bimaanzala: In what made arrive/sent
Note: BIMA means in what. ANZALA is derived from the root N-Z-L and it means to arrive. ANZALA is a third person singular past tense of a verb that is derived from the root. This verb means Made arrive
Allahu: The GOD
Qaloo: They said
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means to say. QALOO is the third person plural past tense of the verb.
nu/minu: We trust/make ourselves safe
Note: the root is Hamza-M-N and it means to become safe. NU/MINU is a first person plural present tense of a verb that is derived from the root and that means Make ourselves safe which really means Trust.
Bima: In what
Onzila: Was made to arrive/was sent
Note: root N-Z-L and it means to arrive. ONZILA is a form of the verb that means was made to arrive.
AAalayna: On us/upon us.
Wayakfuroona: And they cover their minds/refuse
Note: WA means And. YAKFUROONA is derived from the root K-F-R and it means to cover for the concrete and to refuse/cover your mind for the abstract. YAKFUROONA is the third person plural present tense of the verb.
Bima: At what
Waraahu: Behind him/behind his skin/comes after
Note: the root is W-R-W and it means to be in the body cavity behind the skin. WARAAHU means the process that makes behind the skin and that is understood to be either what is behind or the depth of it or both.
Wahuwa: And he (what came behind) is
Alhaqqu: The right as in the truth and rights at the same time
Note: the root is Ha-Qaf-Qaf and it means become right (as in correct and as in a right). ALHAQQ is the Right (in both meanings)
Musaddiqan: Declaring true
Note: the root is Sad-D-Qaf and it means to say the truth for the verb and truth for the noun. MUSADDIQAN is what declares true (something else)
Lima: To what
maAAahum: With them
qul: Say
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means to say. QUL is an order addressed to a singular person that says SAY.
Falima: So why
Taqtuloona: You kill
Note: the root is Qaf-T-L and it means to kill. TAQTULOONA is the second person plural present tense of the verb.
Anbiyaa: Prophets of/the ones that are above other humans and that tell the news from GOD.
Note: there are two roots that may explain this word and that are not mutually exclusive. First root N-B-W and it means to rise above. So NABI is the one that is above others. Another root is N-B-Hamza and that is the one that brings the news. ANBIYAA is plural of NABI and I combined the two roots for this: The ones that are above others and that bring the news from GOD
Allahi: Of the GOD
Min: From
Qablu: before
Note: the root is Q-B-L and it means Front of place or time (as first thing in time or before). This root is used in many ways. QABLU is the front of time and that means Before.
in kuntum: If you were
Note: IN means if. KUNTUM is derived from the root K-W-N and it means to be. KUNTUM is the second person plural past tense of the verb
mu/mineena: Trusting (in GOD and his message)/making salf safe (in GOD and his message)
Note: the root is Hamza-M-N and it means to become safe for the verb. MU/MINEEN is plural of MU/MIN and that the person that makes self safe/trusts in (GOD and his message).
