أَمْ تَقُولُونَ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَـاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالأَسْبَاطَ كَانُواْ هُوداً أَوْ نَصَارَى قُلْ أَأَنْتُمْ أَعْلَمُ أَمِ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ كَتَمَ شَهَادَةً عِندَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
Am taqooloona inna ibraheema wa-ismaAAeelawa-ishaqa wayaAAqooba waal-asbata kanoohoodan aw nasara qul aantum aAAlamu ami Allahuwaman athlamu mimman katama shahadatanAAindahu mina Allahi wama Allahu bighafilinAAamma taAAmaloona

The AYA says:
Or you say that Abraham and Ishamel and Isaac and Jacob and the parents of the (Israelites) tribes were Jewish or Christian?! Say: Are you more knowing or the GOD?! And who is more misplacing good and bad than one that suppresses his testimony of truth from the GOD?! And the GOD pays attention to what you do.

My personal statement:
This AYA reiterated that GOD knows more than anyone does. It also reminds us that we need to testify to the truth always.

Taqooloona: You (plural) say
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means Saying. TAQOOLOONA is the second person plural present tense of a verb that is derived from this root. This verb means You say.
Inna: That (with stress)
Ibraheema: Abraham
wa-ismaAAeela: And Ishamel
wa-ishaqa: And Isaac

waal-asbata: And the tribes/ the parents of tribes.

Athlamu: More misplacing right and wrong
Note: the root is THa-L-M and it means misplacing things in all it’s ways as in misplacing right and wrong and is considered a form of transgression. ATHLAMU is more misplacing right and wrong.
Mimman: From who
Katama: Suppressed/concealed
Note: the root is K-T-M and it means suppression or concealment something so that it is not apparent. In concrete it is used for a plant that is a vine that cannot grow up and rise to be seen. KATAMA is the third person past tense of a verb that is derived from the root. This verb means arrived at suppression or concealment. This really means suppress and conceal.
Shahadatan: Testimony of truth
Note: the root is SH-H-D and it means witnessing of proof. In concrete it is used for honey that is mixed with wax or a newborn that is mixed with mucous. Therefore in the two cases there is a witness to the truth of the situation. SHAHADATAN means testimony or what makes for witnessing truth which is a testimony.
