Salaam all,

This is 2:111
وَقَالُواْ لَن يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ إِلاَّ مَن كَانَ هُوداً أَوْ نَصَارَى تِلْكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمْ قُلْ هَاتُواْ بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِن كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
The Aya says:
And they said will never enter the garden (paradise) except those who are jewish or Christian. These are their wishes of destiny. Say bring your convinving proof if you were saying the truth.

My personal note:
This Aya says that one should not say anything unless they are able to prove it convinvingly, especially when it comes to GOD and the things related to the relationship between man and GOD

Translation of the transliterated words:
Waqaloo: And they said
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means to say. QALOO is the third person plural past tense of the verb.
Lan: Never
Yadkhula: Will enter
Note: the root is D-KH-L and it means to enter. YADKHULA is the third person singular present or future tense of the verb. Here it is a future tense because it follows the LAN which means never.
Aljannata: The garden/paradise
Note: the root is J-N-N and it means to become hidden. ALJANNA means the hidden. It is used to mean Garden because the garden is hidden by the trees. This garden is means to be paradise
Illaman: Except who
Kana: Was
Note: the root is K-W-N and it means the verb to be. KANA is the third person singular past tense. Even though it is the past tense, it can be used as a present tense of the verb as well.
Hoodan: Jewish
aw nasara: Or Christian
Note: AW means OR. NASARA is a word that is used to mean Christians. It is probably derived from Nazareth which is called NASIRA in Arabic. The root of the word N-Sad-R means to aid someone at the time of need.
Tilka: This/these are
Amaniyyuhum: their wishes
Note: the root is M-N-Y and it means what is destined. AMANIYY I plural of what one wishes to be destined or just wishes. Hum means them.
Qul: Say
Hatoo: Bring/give
Burhanakum: Your convincing proof
Note: the root is B-R-H-N and it means to prove convincingly. BURHAN is the convincing proof. KUM means you or your
in kuntum: If you were
sadiqeena: Truthful/saying the truth
Note: the root is Sad-D-Qaf and it means to say the truth. SADIQEEN are the people that say the truth.
