this is 2:124
وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَاماً قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي قَالَ لاَ يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِينَ
Wa-ithi ibtala ibraheemarabbuhu bikalimatin faatammahunna qala innee jaAAilukalilnnasi imaman qala wamin thurriyyateeqala la yanalu AAahdee alththalimeena
The Aya says:
And as Abraham was tested with words by his nurturer, so he completed them. He (GOD) said: I am making you a guide to the goal for the people. He (Abraham) said: and of my dispersed seed? He (GOD) said: Will not reach my promise the ones that displace right with wrong.
My personal note:
This Aya tells us that Abraham was made into the guide to the people. However, it also points out clearly that transgressing people even amongst the seed of Abraham will not reach GOD’s promise.
Translation of the transliterated words:
Wa-ithi: And as
Ibtala: made tested/tested
Note: the root is B-L-W and it means to test or to arrive at test. IBTALA is the third person singular past tense of a verb that it related to this root. This form of the verb means to make someone or something tested for oneself
Ibraheema: Abraham
Rabbuhu: His nurturer
Note: the root is R-B-B and it means to become grown and nurtured in all the aspects (physically, mentally and spiritually). RABBU is the one that does it and I chose the meaning nurturer.Hu means his.
Important notice: IBTALA IBRHIMU RABBUHU means Abraham was tested by his nurturer. (it is a complex rule of arabic grammar)
Bikalimatin: By words
Note: BI means By. KALIMATIN is derived of the root K-L-M and in concrete it relates to skin and it means to become open skin as in wound or open mouth. KALIMAT are the products of the open mouth and they are the words.
Faatammahunna: So he completed them/He made them complete
Note: the root is T-M-M and it means to become complete. ATAMM is the third person past tense singular of a related verb. This verb means Made them complete. HUNNA means them and that is a plural feminine that points to the Words.
Qala: HE (GOD) Said
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means to say. QALA is the third person singular past tense of the verb. The one who was doing the talking here is GOD.
Innee: I (GOD) with stress
jaAAiluka: Making you
Note: the root is J-Ain-L and it means to make or to arrive at making. JaAAiLU means making. KA means you and this is a singular masculine you.
Lilnnasi: To the people/to the society
Note: LI means to. NASSI is derived from the root Hamza-N-S and it means to become social or to socialize. ALNASS is plural of INS and that means the one that one socializes with and that is the people or the society.
Imaman: A guide to the goal
Note: the root is Hamza-M-M and this is one of the most important roots to understand. UMM is the source and the origin while AMM is the goal that one seeks. AMM as a verb means to become directed to a goal. IMAM is the guide to the goal. The goal here is the nearness to GOD and GOD knows best.
Qala: He (Abraham) said
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means to say. QALA is the third person singular past tense of the verb.
Wamin: And from/of
Thurriyyatee: My dispersed seed/grain/particles/atoms
Note: the root is TH-R-R and it means what one pinches with his hands or fingers and disperses. THURRIYA is the product of this dispersal. TEE means mine.
Qala: He (GOD) said
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means to say. QALA is the third person singular past tense of the verb.
la yanalu: Will not reach
Note: La means not. YANALU is derived from the root N-Y-L an dit means to reach (something or somewhere). YANALU is the third person singular or plural present or future tense of the verb.
AAahdee: My promise
Note: the root is Ain-H-D and it means to arrive at promise which potentially can give the feeling of promise or asking someone else to promise or both, with the understanding according to the position in the sentence. The noun is promise. AAaHAD means promise. EE means mine.
Alththalimeena: The ones that misplace right and wrong
Note: the root is TH-L-M and it means to misplace something for the concrete and misplace right and wrong for the abstract. ALTHTHALIMEEN are the people that misplace right and wrong.
