this is 2:156
الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُواْ إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
Allatheena itha asabathum museebatun qaloo inna lillahi wainna ilayhi rajiAAoon

The Aya says:
Those that if an affliction befell them, they said: We belong to GOD and to him we are returning.

My personal note:
We belong to GOD and to Him we are returning is a saying that Muslims say whenever they are touched by an affliction especially the death of someone dear.

This statement also gives a perspective to GOD, for all belong to HIM and all return to him. Whatever we loose eventually returns to GOD.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Allatheena: Those that
Itha: if
Asabathum: befell them
Note: The root is Sad-W-B and it means falling rain for the concrete. For the abstract it means falling (on someone or something). This can mean touched by something and so forth. ASABAT is the third person singular past tense of a verb that is derived from the root. This verb means literally made arrive falling. HUM means them, therefore ASABATHUM means befell them.
Museebatun: Something that makes one fall/affliction
Note: The root is Sad-W-B and it means falling rain for the concrete. For the abstract it means falling (on someone or something). This can mean touched by something and so forth. MUSEEBATUN is the thing that makes one fall and that is an affliction.
Qaloo: They said
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means saying. QALOO is the third person plural past tense of a verb that is derived from the root. This verb means Arrived saying literally and that means They said.
Inna: We (with stress)
Lillahi: Belong to the GOD
Wainna: And We (again with stress)
Ilayhi: To HIM
rajiAAoon: Returning
Note: The root is R-J-Ain and it means returning to where one came from. RAJIAAOON are the group (people or otherwise) that is returning.
