This is 2:164
إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلاَفِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَالْفُلْكِ الَّتِي تَجْرِي فِي الْبَحْرِ بِمَا يَنفَعُ النَّاسَ وَمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ مِنَ السَّمَاء مِن مَّاء فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الأرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٍ وَتَصْرِيفِ الرِّيَاحِ وَالسَّحَابِ الْمُسَخِّرِ بَيْنَ السَّمَاء وَالأَرْضِ لآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
Inna fee khalqi alssamawatiwaal-ardi waikhtilafi allayli waalnnahariwaalfulki allatee tajree fee albahri bimayanfaAAu alnnasa wama anzala Allahumina alssama-i min ma-in faahyabihi al-arda baAAda mawtiha wabaththa feehamin kulli dabbatin watasreefi alrriyahiwaalssahabi almusakhkhari bayna alssama-iwaal-ardi laayatin liqawminyaAAqiloona
The Aya says:
Verily, in the making of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the day and night, and the ships that flow in the sea with what benefits people, and what GOD made arrive of water from the sky, therefore brought life to the land after it’s death, and the spreading and dispersing in it of every being that moves (on earth), and the movement of the wind, and the clouds that were made to serve between the heaven and the earth, are signs to people that knot knowledge.

This Aya is an invitation to learn and contemplate on the signs of GOD.
Translation of transliterated words:
Inna fee: Verily in the
Khalqi: Creation/making of
Note: the root is KH-L-Qaf and it means creating/making out of nothing or out of something. This can include all the things that are involved in creation as in planning, cutting and putting things together. KHALQI means creation of.
Alssamawati: The aboves/the heavens
Note: the root is S-M-W and it means rising as in rising from the ground upwards for the concrete and something similar for the abstract. ALSAMAWAT is the plural of the word SAMA which means the above itself, because things will not rise if there is not an above. The same word is used for any roof or ceiling.
waal-ardi: The land
Note: WA means and. AL ARDH means the land.
Waikhtilafi: And alternation of
Note: WA means And. IKHTILAF is derived from the root KH-L-F which means behind. IKHTILAF is a description of a situation where two entities keep putting each other behind each other. It comes to mean difference in opinion that is not bridgeable and for the day and night it is their alternation.
Allayli: The night
Note: ALLAYL means the night
Waalnnahari: And the day
Note: WA means And. ALNAHAR is derived from the root N-H-R and it means river for concrete or anything that is flowing and that is abundant. ALNAHAR means day because of the river of light that lights it or it could be because the day is what makes things run.
Waalfulki: and the ships
Note: WA means And. ALFULKI is derived from the root F-L-K and it means orbit as the orbit of the planets and so forth or anything that moves in circles, including the waves of the sea because they go in circles around themselves. ALFULKI is the name of the ships because they ride the waves.
Allatee: That
Tajree: Flow/move smoothly
Note: the root is J-R-W and it is used for the little fruits that are rounded in nature and that can run and tumble around. This is the abstract meaning and it used for any movement that is smooth and flowing as in the flowing water very much like a round object that is moving.

Albahri: The sea
Note: the root is B-Ha-R and it means big water. It is used to mean the sea.
Bima: With what
yanfaAAu: benefits
Note: the root is N-F-Ain and it means benefit. YANFaAAu is the third person singular present or future tense of a verb that is derived from this root. This verb means arrives benefit in a literal sense and that means benefit.
Alnnasa: The people/the society
Note: the root is Hamza-N-S and it means socializing. ALNAS are the people that socialize and that is the people or the society.
Wama: And what
Anzala: Made arrive
Note: the root is N-Z-L and it means arriving and often in the meaning of descending but the main meaning is the arrival. ANZALA is the third person singular past tense of a verb that is derived from this root. This verb means literally Made arrive, which really means arrive.

Mawtiha: Her death/her absence of life
Note: the root is M-W-T and it means death or absence of life. MAWT means death. HA means her and the her points to the earth or the land.
Wabaththa: And dispersed and spread
Note: WA means And. BATHTHA is derived from the root is B-TH-TH and it means dispersing and spreading at the same time. BATHTHA is the third person singular past tense of a verb that is derived from the root. This verb means arrived spreading and dispersing. This is the literal meaning and it actually means dispersed and spread.

Kulli: Every/all/each
Note: the root is K-L-L and it means K-L-L the parts put together, therefore it means all at times and each/every at others. Here it means each or all or every for all the meanings can do fine in this place
Dabbatin: animal/anything that walks on earth
Note: the root is D-B-B and it means walked on earth or moved on earth. DABBATIN is anything that moves on earth or walks on earth.
Watasreefi: And moving
Note: WA means And. TASREEF is derived from the root Sad-R-F and it means moving something or someone in any direction. TASREEF is the process of moving.
Alrriyahi: The wind
Note: the root is R-Y-HA and it means wind or anything that blows. ALRIYAHI is the plural of wind which is still wind.
Waalssahabi: And the clouds
Note: WA means and. ALSSAHAB is derived from the root S-Ha-B and it means pulling. ALSSAHAB are the clouds because they are pulled by the wind in the different directions.
Almusakhkhari: That were put to work/that were made to serve
Note: the root is S-KH-R and it means working without pay or compensation. This same word is also used to mean making fun of someone or something, probably because making someone work without compensation is like making fun of them. ALMUSAKHKHARAT is plural of what was made to work without pa/ what was made to serve.
Bayna: betweeen

Liqawmin: To group of people
Note: LI means to. QAWMIN is derived from the root Qaf-W-M and it means standing. QAWM are the people that stand together and that means group of people
yaAAqiloona: knot (knowledge)/think
Note: the root is Ain-Qaf-L and it means knotting as in knotting the rope together or the two ropes to connect them together. This is the concrete meaning and for abstract it used for thinking, because thinking is a process of knotting knowledge and connecting it together.

Whats the difference between root words battha and shatta (92:4 or 59:14)?

I see Shatta in both verses and in both of them it points to something going in many directions and being discordant.

My apologies, I meant to ask the difference between battha (2:164) and shatta as they both seem to give the meaning of going in different directions or dispersing.

The root B-TH-TH carries the meaning of spreading and mutliplying at the same time whereas the root SH-T-T means dispersing with division in a sense as well
