10:65

Salaam all

10:65

وَلاَ يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِنَّ ٱلْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعاً هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

walā yazunka qawluhum inna l-ʿizata lillahi jamīʿan huwa l-samīʿu l-ʿalīmu

The Aya says:

And do not let their speech sadden you.  Indeed the prevailing belongs to Allah, all of it.  He is the listening, the knowing.

My personal note:

The Aya asks that prophet, upon him be peace, not to let all the talk bother him for Allah prevails over all and He is well aware of what is going on.

Translation of the transliterated words:

walā: and not

yazunka: Saddens you (singular)

Note: the root is Ha-Z-N and it means to become sad for the verb and Saddness for the noun. YAHZUNKA is an is an order or a request addressed to a singular.  WALA YAHZUNKA means and do not let it sadden you (singular)

Qawluhum: their words/ their talk

Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means saying in any way possible.  QAWLU means speech or words of.  HUM means them

Inna: indeed

l-ʿizata: The  domination/ the prevailing

Note: the root is Ain-Z-Z and it means the hard earth that will not yield under the rain and therefore, will make the rain water flow rather than seep or cause the earth to erode. It is used for entities that are strong and defeat pressure, basically the combination of strength and dominance.

Lillahi: belongs to Allah

jamīʿan: All/ collectively

Note: the root is J-M-Ain and it means gather the different parts together or putting things together. JAMeeAAaN means together or all.

Huwa: He (Allah)

l-samīʿu: the hearing/ the listening

Note: the root is S-M-Ain and and it means hearing or hearing and understanding or knowing and retaining at the same time. It also can mean hearing and approving or concurring at times. ALSAMWWAAu means the hearing/ the listening

l-ʿalīmu: the knowing

Note: the root is Ain-L-M and it means knowing/knowledge or knowledge of facts. ALALEEMU means  the very knowing or very aware.

Salaam all and have a great day

Hussein
