4:164

Salaam all,

This is 4:164
وَرُسُلاً قَدْ قَصَصْنَاهُمْ عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَرُسُلاً لَّمْ نَقْصُصْهُمْ عَلَيْكَ وَكَلَّمَ اللّهُ مُوسَى تَكْلِيمًا
Warusulan qad qasasnahum AAalayka min qablu warusulan lam naqsushum AAalayka wakallama Allahu moosa takleeman

The Aya says:
And envoys we narrated upon you (singular) from before and envoys we did not narrate upon you (singular). And Allah spoke to Moses speech/speaking.

My personal note:
This Aya continues and mentions that there are other messengers/ envoys of God that were not mentioned in the Qur’an. It also reiterates that God spoke to Moses with speech rather than inspiration or other subtle communication.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Warusulan: and messengers/ envoys
Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA often corresponds with “and/ addition” but the more encompassing meaning is in inclusion one in another or all in a bigger picture or sentence. RUSULAN is derived from the root R-S-L and it means to envoy someone or a group of people or animals. The concrete word is RASL and it means a group of people or animals that were sent by their owners or senders. RUSULAN means messengers and is the plural of Rasul who is the one that is sent and is used to mean the messenger or envoy because he was sent by the sender to the receiver.

Qasasnahum: We narrated them/ We told their story
Note: the root is Qaf-Sad-Sad and it means cutting in concrete as in cutting hair or other things. In abstract it is also used in telling a story because it is a cutting of the bigger story of life. QASASNA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of telling a story or part of a story of the object (HUM= them) happened by the subject (first person plural)..
AAalayka: upon you (singular)
Min: from
Qablu: before
Note: the root Qaf-B-L and it means front. This is then carried in time or space or any plain of thought. If it is in time, then front means before, while place would be in front. It is used to mean acceptance and reception since we receive and accept using our fronts. QABLU here is front in time and that is before.

KALLAMA is derived from the root K-L-M and it means wound or opening of the skin and that is the concrete word. It is also used to mean words or statements because those are the products of the opening of the mouth, which is an opening of the skin. KALLAMA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of speaking or wording words happened by the subject (Allah) to the object (Moses).

Takleeman: speech/ speaking
Note: the root K-L-M and it means wound or opening of the skin and that is the concrete word. It is also used to mean words or statements because those are the products of the opening of the mouth, which is an opening of the skin. TAKLEEMAN means speech or speaking.
