Qul halumma shuhadaakumu allatheena yashhadoona anna Allaha harrama hatha fain shahidoo fala tashhad maAAahum wala tattabiAA ahwaa allatheena kaththaboo biayatina waallatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati wahum birabbihim yaAAdiloona
The Aya says: Say (O Muhammad): “bring about your witnesses who testify that Allah made this forbidden. “ So if they testified then do not testify with them and do not join and follow desires/ biases of those who rejected Our signs nor those who do not have safety in the later life and in their Nurturing Lord, they make equals.
My personal note: The Aya brings about to the prophet upon him be peace, but also to all of us that we should not join and follow the people who make rules and regulations based on their likes, dislikes and biases but without resorting to clear proofs or orders coming from God.
Translation of the transliterated words: Qul: Say/ communicate/respond Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means saying or communicating. QUL is an order or a request addressed to a singular. It means: say or communicate. Halumma: bring about Note: this is a specific term that carries with it an order to come with or bring about. It is an order addressing a group but the same word can address a singular and dual form. Shuhadaakumu: your witnesses Note: SHUHADAA is derived from the root SH-H-D and it means witnessing of truth and it also denotes that the witness knows very well what he or she is witnessing about. The concrete meaning is the honey mixed with wax therefore the wax is the witness of the truth that the honey is the honey. Another concrete meaning is the baby that was just born and is covered with a membrane. In both, there is close association which is proof or witness of the fact. SHUHADAA means witnesses or a group that is witnessing of. KUM is plural you. Allatheena: those who/ the ones who Yashhadoona: testify Note: YASHHADOON is derived from the root SH-H-D and it means witnessing of truth and it also denotes that the witness knows very well what he or she is witnessing about. TATTABiAAoo is derived from the root T-B-Ain and it means following footsteps or following behind, or joining and following. TATTABiAA is an order or a request addressing a singular. It means: make yourselves join and follow or just join and follow. Ahwaa: desires of/ biases of/ airs of Note: the root is H-W-Y and it means what is between the earth and the sky and that is air and emptiness for the Arabs. It means: the action of making an object (Biayatina= in our signs) untrue happened by the subject (third person plural). In this context, “making the signs untrue” means actually declaring it untrue or denying truthfulness or strongly rejecting it .
biayatina: in Our signs Note: Bi denotes that what comes after is a tool and/or an object or an association with an action that was mentioned. If it is an object of the action then it makes it stronger. AYAT is derived from the root Hamza-Y-H and it means sign. AYATI means signs of. NA means Us or our. Waallatheena: nor those who la yuminoona: do not make themselves safe in/ trust in Note: LA is for negation of the coming action. YUMINOONA is derived from the root Hamza-M-N and it means safety. Conceptually, it can also be extended to trust as well, because we feel safe in the entity we trust. YUMINOONA is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of making oneself safe is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person plural). Bialakhirati: in the later life Note: Bi suggests that what comes after it is either a tool of the action or an object of the action or any combination. If bi serves as an object of the action that it serves as an emphasis of the action. ALAKHIRATI is derived from the root Hamza-KH-R and it means remaining. ALAKHIRATI means the remaining or the later. This, in turn means the later life or the life after death. Wahum: and they
Birabbihim: in their nurturing lord Note: Bi suggests that what comes after it is either a tool of the action or an object of the action or any combination. If bi serves as an object of the action that it serves as an emphasis of the action. RABBIHIM is derived from the root R-B-B and it means nurturing and Lordship as two components of the meaning that can be present together or one at a time according to the context of the sentence. RABBI is nurturing Lord of. HIM means them. yaAAdiloona: they trade/ they find equals Note: the root is AIN-D-L and it means just or straightforward or straight without bends. Conceptually it is used to point to justice or equitable exchange and straightforward dealings. YAAaDILOONA is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means the equitable exchange is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person plural pointing to Rejectors) to the object (Birabbihim= in their lord). In this context since Allah, has no equal then there cannot be an equitable exchange and they are way off base and way off justice.
