2:141

Salaam all,

This is 2:141
تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُمْ مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلاَ تُسْأَلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ
Tilka ommatun qad khalat laha makasabat walakum ma kasabtum wala tus-aloona AAammakanoo yaAAmaloona

The aya says:
That is a group that passed, to her what she collected of provisions and to you what you collected, and you will not be enquired about what they were doing.

My personal note:
This Ays tells us that the people that passed give us the story so that we learn from it, yet their issues and business is theirs and ours is ours. We will not be asked about what they were doing and they will not be asked about us. All will have to work on what they collect of provisions with the understanding that the provisions are physical, spiritual and mental at the same time.

The translation of the transliterated words:
Tilka: That
Ommatun: nation/group of people that share same origin and same goal
Note: the root is Hamza-M-M and it means mother or source if UMM and goal to reach if AMM and both are related. UMMA is the group of people that share the same origin and same goal. This can be a nation or something like it
qad khalat: that passed/gone
Note: QAD is used to mean that in this instance. KHALAT is derived from the root KH-L-W and it means emptiness. KHALAT is the third person singular past tense of a verb that is derived from the root and it means Arrived emptiness or arrived at emptiness and it means here that they became gone for that is the emptiness here.
Laha: To her
Note: the her here is the UMMA for the word is feminine.
Makasabat: What she collected of gains or provisions/what she gained.
Note: MA means what. KASABAT is derived from the root K-S-B and it means collection of gains or provisions. KASABAT is the third person singular past tense of a verb that is derived from the root and that means literally Arrived at collection of gains which really mean what she gained.
Walakum: And to you
ma kasabtum: What you gained
Note: MA means what. KASABTUM is derived from the root K-S-B and it means collection of gains or provisions. KASABTUM is the second person plural past tense of a verb that is derived from the root and that means literally Arrived at collection of gains which really mean what you gained.
Wala: And not
tus-aloona: Will you be enquired/you are enquired
Note: the root is S-Hamza-L and it means asking/inquiry for questions and/or for favors as well, depending on the situation. TUS-ALOONA is the second person plural present or future tense of a verb that is derived from the root. This verb means literally you will be arrived at inquiry which really means you will be inquired or you are enquired
AAamma: on what
Kano: They were
Note: the root is K-W-N and it means being. KANOO is the third person plural past tense of a very that is derived from this root and that means they arrived at being literally and this means they were here.
yaAAmaloona: doing
Note: the root is An-M-L and it means work or doing. YaAAMALOON is the third person plural present tense of a verb that is derived of the root and that means they arrive at doing/making which here means doing because of the kanoo that came before it.

Salaam all and have a great day

Hussein
