2:97

Salaam all,

This is 2:97
قُلْ مَن كَانَ عَدُوّاً لِّجِبْرِيلَ فَإِنَّهُ نَزَّلَهُ عَلَى قَلْبِكَ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Qul man kana AAaduwwan lijibreelafa-innahu nazzalahu AAala qalbika bi-ithni Allahimusaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi wahudan wabushralilmu/mineena

Note:
The Aya says “Say (addressing the Prophet Muhammad): Whoever was an enemy to Gabriel, Then he (Gabriel) made him (the book) arrive on your heart and mind with GOD’s knowledge and approval, declaring true what is in between his hands (available to Gabriel of the books of GOD) and guidance and good news to those who make selves safe (in GOD).

My Personal note:
This Aya mentions Gabriel the angel. It says that whoever is Gabriel’s enemy, then Gabriel is the one that brought the message on the heart and mind of the prophet. Then the Aya mentions that this new message declares true what was sent before, as well as guidance and good news to the ones that make selves safe in GOD or to the ones that trust in GOD.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Qul: Say
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means to say. QUL is an order addressing a single person and it means Say.
Man: Who/whoever
Kana: Was
Note: the root is K-W-N and it means to be. KANA is the third person singular past tense of the verb.
AAaduwwan: enemy
Note: the root is Ain-D-W and it means to run and/or to overstep limits for the verb. For the noun is running and overstepping boundaries. AAaDUWWAN is the person that oversteps boundaries in the concrete and an enemy in the abstract meaning which is the one used here.
Lijibreela: To Gabriel
Note: Li means to and JIBREEL is the Arabic name for Gabriel.
fa-innahu: So, he (Gabriel)
nazzalahu: made him (the book) arrive
Note: the root here is N-Z-L and it means to arrive. NAZZAL is the third person singular past tense of a verb that is derived from this root. This verb means to make arrive. HU means him and here is points to the book/the message.
AAala: On
Qalbika: Your heart and mind
Note: the root is Qas-L-B and it means to turn upside down in 180 degrees. The noun means the stable center that stays in place as the turning occurs. It is used to mean Heart and mind at the same time because it is the stable core. QALB means heart and mind. KA means your.
bi-ithni: With knowledge and approval of
Note: the root is Hamza-TH-N and it means to know and approve of something. The concrete word is UTHN and it means ear which is one of the sites of senses of knowledge. BI-ITHN means with knowledge and approval of.
Allahi: The GOD
Musaddiqan: Declaring true
Note: the root is Sad-D-Qaf and it means to say truth/be truthful. MUSADDIQAN means declaring true.
Lima: To what
Bayna: between
Yadayhi: His hands/available and present
Note: YAD means hand in the concrete and ability, availability in the abstract, depending on the situations. Here, the abstract available to him would probably fit well.
Wahudan: And gift of guidance
Note: the root is H-D-W and it means to gift for the verb and gift for the noun. Hudan is guidance and it basically says that guidance is a huda.
Wabushra: And good news
Note: the root is B-SH-R and it means outer skin for the concrete. For the abstract, it can mean good news since the outer skin is the organ of beauty in people.
lilmu/mineena: To those that make selves safe (in GOD)
Note: LI means to. MU/MINEEN is derived of the root Hamza-M-N and it means to become safe for the verb and safety for the noun. MU/MINEEN are the people that make themselves safe/trust (in GOD).
