This is 3:185
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ وَما الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلاَّ مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ
Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti wainnama tuwaffawna ojoorakum yawma alqiyamati faman zuhziha AAani alnnari waodkhila aljannata faqad faza wama alhayatu alddunya illa mataAAu alghuroori

The aya says:
Each self tastes death and you (plural) will meet the dues of your compensations on the Day of Judgment. Therefore, whoever was distanced from Hell and entered paradise, then he won. And the nearer life/ this life, is only a tool for the ones who pursue falsehood.

My personal note:
The Aya reminds us that we will all die and therefore it reminds us of the Day of Judgment and the life that happens after it. It mentions in the end that a person who cares only about this life that we are living, then he or she is pursuing the tools of the people who seek falsehood or who seek the uncertain. This is opposed to the certainty of wanting to be with God on that day.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Kullu: each/ every
Note: the root is K-L-L and it means the parts put together. This is the concrete and it means all or every or each. KULLU means each or every.
Nafsin: self
Note: NAFSIN is derived from the root N-F-S and it means to breath. This is the concept and then it can extend to self or anything that breathes. NAFSIN means self.
Thaiqatu: she tasting of
Note: the root is th-W-Qaf and it means taste. THAIQATU means: a feminine tasting of. The feminine here points to Nafsin= self.
Almawti: the death
Note: the root is M-W-T and it means death or the opposite of life or the lack of voluntary movement. ALMAWTI is the death.
Wainnama: and only
Tuwaffawna: you (plural) would be made to meet dues
Note: the root is W-F-Y and it means meeting dues. TUWAFFAWNA is an action that is derived from the root and that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of making dues met is happening or will be happening by an unnamed subject to the object (second person plural).
Ojoorakum: your (plural) compensations/ your Compensations for work
Note: the root is Hamza-J-R and it means compensation for work done. OJOORA means compensations of work or just compensation of. KUM is plural you.
Yawma: Day of/ day when
Note: the root is Y-W-M and it means day. YAWM means a day and it spans a day and night cycle. YAWMA means: day of or day when.
Alqiyamati: the rising/ the standing upright
Note: the root is Q-W-M and it means standing upright. ALQIYAMATI is the standing upright or upright standing. This is a term that is used for the Day of Judgment because we all stand in front of GOD. YAWMA ALQIYAMATI is the judgment day.
Faman: therefore who
Zuhziha: was distanced/ moved away
Note: the root is Z-Y-Ha and it means distancing and moving away. ZUHZIHA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of moving away or distancing an object (third person singular) happened by an undeclared subject.
AAani: from/ away from

Alnnari: the fire/ Hell
Note: the root is N-W-R and it means lighting. This could be lighting light or lighting fire according to the word and the context. ALNNARI is the fire, and it is used to mean Hell.
Waodkhila: and was entered/ including was entered
Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture. WA is often translated as an addition (and), but inclusion probably covers the meaning a little better. ODKHILA is derived from the root D-KH-L and it means entering. ODKHILA is an action that was completed. It means: the action of making the object (third person singular) enter another object (Aljannata= the garden/ paradise) happened by an undeclared subject.
Aljannata: the garden/ the hidden entity/ paradise
Note: the root is J-N-N and it means hidden or hiding. It is therefore used to mean darkness because it hides as well as garden because gardens can be hidden or because it has less light than the place out in the sun for the Arabs of the desert. ALJANNATA means: the garden/ the hidden entity. It is used here for paradise.

Faza: He won
Note: the root is F-W-Z and it means winning in a good fashion. FAZA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of winning happened by the subject (third person singular).
Wama: and not
Alhayatu: the life
Note: the root Ha-Y-W and it means life or living. ALHAYATU means the life
Alddunya: the near/ the nearer
Note: the root is D-N-W and it means nearness or nearing. ALDUNYA means the near. In this case, it points to this life that we are living in as the near. ALHAYATU ALDDUNYA means the near life or this life that we are living as opposed to the coming life.
Illa: except
mataAAu: belonging of/ tools to goals of
Note: the root M-T-Ain and it means when the wine becomes very red or when the rope becomes tight. This is the concrete and the concept gives the meaning of something or someone reaching where it needs to reach within the limits of time, space, etc. MATaAAu is the action of reaching the goals, or the tools of reaching the goals or anything in that process, or any combinations of the three.
Alghuroori: the ones who follow falsehood/ the ones who pursue the tricky/ the ones who pursue the uncertain.
Note: the root is Ghain-R-R and it means false or uncertain and it can take the meaning of tricky. ALGHUROORI are the ones who follow the falsehood or the trickiness or the uncertain as opposed the safe and true and certain.
