Salaam all,


Waitha faAAaloo fahishatan qaloo wajadna AAalayha abaana waAllahu amarana biha qul inna Allaha la yamuru bialfahshai ataqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona


The Aya says:

And when they did an abomination they said: “This is what we found our acestors upon and Allah ordered us by it.” Respond (O Muhammad): Indeed Allah does not order by the abomination. Do you say upon Allah what you have no knowledge of?!

My personal note:
The abomination that is mentioned here is related to the subject of clothing that covers our private areas and that was mentioned in the immediately preceding Ayat.

According to the books of Tafsir/ exegesis, the people of Arabia used to circumbulate around the Kaaba naked unless they were of the tribe of Qureish. The Aya basically says that practice has no place and no justification for Allah does not order an abomination.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Waitha: and if/ when
faAAaloo: they did/ they committed
Note: FAAaLOO is derived from the root F-Ain-L and it means doing. FAAaLOO is an action that is completed. It means: the action of doing happened by the subject (third person plural) of the object (FAHISHATAN= an abomination)

Fahishatan: an abomination/ an ugly word or deed
Note: the root is F-Ha-SH and it means: the ugly word or deed or any word or deed that has exceeded the border of decency and appropriateness. The term is often used related to sexual acts, but it is not limited to it. FAHISHA is the ugly word or deeds including sexually or nudity/indecent exposure.

Qaloo: they said/ they communicated
Note: QALOO is derived from the root Qaf-W-L and it means saying in any way possible. QALOO is an action that is completed that is derived from the root. It means the action of saying happened by the subject (third person plural). This, in turn means: They said/ communicated.
Wajadna: we found
Note: the root is W-J-D and it means in one concrete meaning the water that has accumulated in the desert. This is then used to mean a find that is really important. WAJADNA is an action that is completed that derived from the root. It means: the action of finding the object (ABAANA= our parents/ ancestor) happened by the subject (first person plural).

Aalayha: upon her
Abaana: our parents/ our ancestors
Note: the root is root Hamza-B and it means father or parent. ABAA means parents of or ancestors of. NA means US. Here fathers is extended from parents to the ancestors.

waAllahu: and Allah
amarana: ordered us
Note: The root is Hamza-M-R and it means ordering something and the implementation of it. Sometimes it attains the implementation part or matter as in personal matter and so forth, and at times it is the order and implementation of the order, depending on the situation in the sentence. AMARANA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of ordering or ordering to implement or implementing the object (NA= us) happened by the subject (First person singular)

Biha: by her (the abominable action).
Note: Bi suggests that what comes after it is either a tool of the action or an object of the action or any combination. If bi serves as an object of the action that it serves as an emphasis of the action. HA means herand it points to the abominable action.

Qul: say
Note: QUL is derived from the root Qaf-W-L and it means saying in any way possible. QUL is an order addressed to a singular. It means: Say.
Inna: indeed
Allaha: Allah
la yamuru: does not order
Note: LA is for negation of the action that comes next. YAMURU is derived from the root Hamza-M-R and it means ordering something and the implementation of it. Sometimes it attains the implementation part or matter as in personal matter and so forth, and at times it is the order and implementation of the order, depending on the situation in the sentence. YAMURU is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of ordering or ordering to implement is happening by the subject (third person singular).

Bialfahshai: by the abomination/ the abomination
Note: Bi suggests that what comes after it is either a tool of the action or an object of the action or any combination. If bi serves as an object of the action that it serves as an emphasis of the action. ALFAHSHAI is derived from the root is F-Ha-SH and it means: the ugly word or deed or any word or deed that has exceeded the border of decency and appropriateness. The term is often used related to sexual acts, but it is not limited to it. ALFAHSHAI is the ugly word or deeds including sexually or nudity/indecent exposure.

Ataqooloona: Do you (plural) say?/ do you (plural) claim
Note: ATAQOOLOON is derived from the root Qaf-W-L and it means saying in any way possible. ATAQOOLOON is a question addressed to a group and it means: Do you say? Or do you claim
Aaala: upon
Allahi: Allah
Ma: What
La taAAlamoona: you (plural) do not know/ you have no knowledge of facts about.
Note: LA is for negation of the action that is coming up. TaAALAMOON is derived from the root Ain-L-M and it means knowing/knowledge or knowledge of facts. TaAALAMOON is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of knowing the object (not specified but probably points to the piece of information) for fact is happening or will be happening by the subject (second person plural). MA LA TaAALAMOONA together means: what you (plural) do not know or what you have no knowledge of facts about.
