إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْاْ مِنكُمْ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ إِنَّمَا اسْتَزَلَّهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُواْ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا اللّهُ عَنْهُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
Inna allatheena tawallaw minkum yawma iltaqa aljamAAani innama istazallahumu alshshaytanu bibaAAdi ma kasaboo walaqad AAafa Allahu AAanhum inna Allaha ghafoorun haleemun

The Aya says:
Verily, those who turned away amongst you the day of the encounter of the two crowds were just made to slip by Satan through some of what they gained. And indeed Allah erased away from them (the slip). Verily, Allah (is), forgiving, kind.

My personal note:
Here, Allah mentions that the error of those who erred was a slip on their part that was induced by Satan through some of their gains. It is a call for caution regarding that we can slip through our gains. It is also a reminder that God is forgiving and kind.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Inna: Verily/indeed
Allatheena: those who
Tawallaw: moved away/ followed their own direction
Note: the root is W-L-Y and it means direction or following direction with some guarantee. TAWALLAW is an action that is completed. It means: the action of making the subject (third person plural) follow own direction and guarantee happened. This takes the meaning of following own direction or moving away from the direction and guarantee of God.
Minkum: of you (plural)/ amongst you
Yawma: day of/ day when
Note: the root is Y-W-M and it means day. YAWM means a day and it spans a day and night cycle. YAWMA means: day of or day when.
Iltaqa: met/ they met
Note: the root is L-Qaf-Y and it means receiving as a concept which would be understood more specifically according to the sentence. Concrete uses of the word are a female that gets pregnant easily, therefore she received the sperm well. It is also used for the birds that hunt because they receive the prey easily and so forth. ILTAQA is an action that is completed. It means the action of meeting or receiving was made to happen by the subject for the subject (third person plural).
aljamAAani: the two crowds/ the two gatherings
Note: the root is J-M-Ain and it means gather the different parts together or putting things together. ALJAMAAaNI are the two crowds or two gatherings.

Innama: but/ indeed but
Istazallahumu: He Sought and achieved making them slip/ He made them slip
Note: the root is Z-L-L and it means slipping as something slipping on earth and so forth. This is the concrete meaning and it is understood as well in the abstract terms. ISTAZALLA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of seeking and making the object (Humu= them) slip happened by the subject (third person singular pointing to Satan, coming up).
Alshshaytanu: Satan
Note: the root is SH-Ta-N and it means the long rope at the well that one uses to get the bucket out of the water. The term is used to mean far and away (in all the planes of thought) as the long rope and it is also used for displacement or pulling away, as a parallel to the rope the pulls the bucked out of the water. ALSHAITAN is the one who is far or away (from God’s mercy) and who works at pulling other away through his long “rope”. It is the word used from Satan.
bibaAAdi: with some of
Note: Bi denotes that what comes after is a tool and/or an object or an association with an action that was mentioned. If it is an object of the action then it makes it stronger. BaAADI is derived from the root B-Ain-Dhad and it means some of the whole. BaAADI means some of.
Ma: what
Kasaboo: they gained/ they earned/ they collected
Note: the root is K-S-B and it means earning or collecting. KASABOO is an action that is completed and that is derived from the root. It means: the action of earning of collecting happened by the subject (third person plural)
Walaqad: and indeed
AAafa: He erased/ He forgave
Note: the root is Ain-F-W and it means erasing with an eraser. This is the concrete and in abstract it means forgive or give up something, because that means you erase it from your record, either by forgiving or by giving something to someone else. AAaFA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of erasing or forgiving happened by the subject (third person singular pointing to God).
Allahu: Allah
AAanhum: from them/ away from them
Note: AAan has multiple meanings that are determined by the context. It has the general meaning of about. However, at times, it takes the meaning of away from. The determinants are the sentence and the verbs or actions that precede the AAan. This is the case here.
Inna: indeed/ verily
Allaha: Allah
Ghafoorun: forgiving/ provider of protective cover
Note: the root is GH-F-R and it means covering for protection. The concrete word is the helmet of the fighter. GHAFOORUN is the one that covers to protect. This, in turn means protection from committing the sin and protection from the consequences of sin, which also means forgiving
Haleemun: kind/appropriate in response
Note: the root is Ha-L-M and it means dream or dreaming in the concrete. It is also used as the word to mean night emissions (the ejaculations while asleep). This, in turn means that the person reached the age of maturity and supposed appropriateness in response. HALEEM is the word used for kind/considerate/appropriate in response person and all are signs of maturity.
