Salaam all,
This is a 3:148
فَآتَاهُمُ اللّهُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ الآخِرَةِ وَاللّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Faatahumu Allahu thawaba alddunya wahusna thawabi alakhirati waAllahu yuhibbu almuhsineena
The Aya says:
Therefore, Allah brought them (the) reward of this life and (the) goodness of reward of the hereafter. And Allah loves the ones who do goodness.
My personal note:
This Aya continues the same subject and it mentions that the calling upon God as mentioned in the previous Aya brought about God’s unending rewards in this life and the next. God asks us to always ask for his help and for His protective cover.
Translation of the transliterated words:
Faatahumu: So He brought them
Note: Fa means so or therefore or then. ATAHUMU is derived from the root Hamza-T-Y and it means in concrete the water that comes from the rain of another land. In a conceptual manner, it means the coming of something or someone with many of it’s implications. ATA is an action that was completed. It means: the action of making an object (thwaba= reward) come to another object (humu= them) happened by the subject (first person singular pointing to Allah).
Allahu: Allah
Thawaba: fill and refill of/ great reward of
Note: the root is TH-W-B and it means to come and return (to fill and refill of goodness). Concrete words are MATHAB which is the well or pool that fills and refills with water and where people go and return for watering. Another concrete word is THAWB and it means dress because we fill it and refill it with our bodies. THAWAB means fill and refill of or great reward as a concept because it fills us and refills us all the time.
Alddunya: this life/ the nearer
Note: the root is D-N-W and it means nearness or nearing. ALDUNYA means the near. This then points to this life.
wahusna: and beauty of/ and goodness of
Note: WA is a letter that links what is before with what is after. This link is through inclusion, either one is included in the other or they are all included in the bigger sentence or bigger picture in which case it corresponds with addition. WA often corresponds with “and/ addition” but the more encompassing meaning is in inclusion one in another or all in a bigger picture or sentence. HUSNA is derived from the root Ha-S-N and it means beauty in all the angles of thought of beauty. HUSNA means beauty of or goodness of.
Thawabi: great reward/ fill and refill
Note: the root is TH-W-B and it means to come and return (to fill and refill of goodness). Concrete words are MATHAB which is the well or pool that fills and refills with water and where people go and return for watering. Another concrete word is THAWB and it means dress because we fill it and refill it with our bodies. THAWAB means fill and refill of or great reward as a concept because it fills us and refills us all the time, unending.
Alakhirati: the remaining life/ the hereafter
Note: the root Hamza-KH-R and it means remaining. ALAKHIRATI means the remaining or the later. This, in turn means the later life or the life after death.
waAllahu: And Allah/ while Allah
yuhibbu: loves
Note: the root is Ha-B-B and it means in concrete seed. This word also means love. As if the seed is the product of love or the love will end up in a seed. YUHIBBU is an action that is derived from the root and that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of loving is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person singular pointing to Allah) of the object Almuhsineen= the ones who make goodness, coming up.
Almuhsineena: the one who make goodness/ the ones who make beauty (in all it’s aspects)
Note: the root is Ha-S-N and it means beauty in all the angles of thought of beauty. ALMUHSINEENA are the ones who make beauty happen and in all it’s angles, it contains goodness inside and out and so forth.
