2:107

Salaam all,

This is 2:107
أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلاَ نَصِيرٍ
Alam taAAlam anna Allaha lahu mulkualssamawati waal-ardi wamalakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin

The Aya says:
Haven’t you (singular) known that the GOD has ownership of the aboves (heavens) and the earth? And that you (plural) have no one short of GOD to provide you direction and no one to aid you at a time of need?

My personal note:
The Aya is a reminder to humans that GOD has all, and that short of him, we get nowhere.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Alam taAAlam: Haven’t you known?
Note: please see this in the previous Aya.
Anna: That
Allaha: The GOD
Lahu: To HIM
Mulku: Ownership
Note: the root is M-L-K and it means to own and for the verb. For the noun it means ownership. MULKU means ownership.
Alssamawati: The aboves
Note: the root is S-M-W and it means to rise. ALSAMAWAT is the plural of SAMA’ and SAMA’ means what is above us or what makes things rise and that is what is above us.
waal-ardi: And the earth
Note: WA means and. AL-ARDI is the word that means land or earth depending on the sentence. Here it means Earth.
Wamalakum: And you do not have
Note: WAMA means and not. LAKUM means to you. The combination means and you do not have.
Min: From/of
Dooni: Short of
Note: the root is D-W-N and it means to be short of (as in short of being somewhere or somehow)
Allahi: The GOD
Min: Of/From
Waliyyin: One whose direction to follow (who is close to them)
Note: the root is W-L-Y and it means to direct or to follow direction of (someone or something). WALIYYIN is the person that one either directs or follows direction of or both with closeness in relationship. Since it deals with GOD I chose one whose direction to follow.
Wala: And not
Naseerin: Someone who aids at a time of need
Note: the root is N-Sad-R and it means to aid at a time of need. NASEER is the person that aids at a time of need.

salaam all and have a great day

Hussein
