3:45

Salaam all,

This is 3:45
إِذْ قَالَتِ الْمَلآئِكَةُ يَا مَرْيَمُ إِنَّ اللّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنْهُ اسْمُهُ الْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَجِيهًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
Ith qalati almalaikatu ya maryamu inna Allaha yubashshiruki bikalimatin minhu ismuhu almaseehu AAeesa ibnu maryama wajeehan fee alddunya waalakhirati wamina almuqarrabeena

The Aya says:
As/when the angels said: O Mary, verily Allah brings you glad tidings of a statement from him. He is called the messiah Isa son of Mary, dignified in this life and the remaining life and one of those who are made close (to God)

My personal note:
One of the questions that come related to Jesus is was Jesus the word or statement of God or was he a product of the statement from God. This passage seems to suggest that Jesus was the product of God’s word or statement and not the actual word himself. Here is how:
The word Kalimatun which means word or statement has a feminine designation. Yet the statement that followed was using the masculine and not feminine, therefore making Jesus and word as two separate entities and not one. If Jesus were the word, then one would have expected the Qur’an to continue with the feminine designation as in saying: Statement from him. She is called, rather than He is called.

Translation of the translated words:
Ith: As/When
Qalati: they said
Note: the root is Qaf-W-L and it means saying or communicating. QALAT is an action that is completed that is derived from the root. It means: the saying happened by the subject (third person plural feminine). It means they said.
Almalaikatu: The angels/ the messengers
Note: the root is L-Hamza-K and it means messenger. ALMALAIKATU are the messengers and is used for the angels since they are the messengers of God to his people and messengers.
Ya: O (this is a calling)
Maryamu: Mary/ Miriam
Inna: verily
Allaha: Allah/ God
Yubashshiruki: brings you good news/ sends you glad tidings
Note: the root B-SH-R and it means the outer skin. This is also a sign of beauty and good news in the abstract. YUBASHSHIRU is an action that is completed. It means: the action of making good news arrive to the object KI which means singular feminine you. The action happened by the subject (third person singular pointing to God).
Bikalimatin: by a word/ by a statement
Note: Bi suggests that what comes after it is either an association with the action, a tool of the action or an object of the action or any combination of the three. If bi serves as an object of the action then it serves as an emphasis of the action. The action here is the making true. KALIMATIN is derived from the root K-L-M and it means wound or opening of the skin and that is the concrete word. It is also used to mean words or statements because those are the products of the opening of the mouth, which is an opening of the skin. KALIMATIN is a word or statement.
Minhu: from him
Ismuhu: his name/ he is called
Note: the root is S-M-W and it means rising. This word is used to mean many things that are related to that meaning. One of the meanings is name because when a person’s name is called, he or she would rise and respond. The root is used here for name. ISMU means name of/ or calling of. HU means him.
Almaseehu: The Messiah/ the anointed one/ the swiped one
Note: the root is M-S-Ha and it means swipe one surface opposite another. It could also mean anoint. ALMASEEHU means the one who is swiped or anointed. This is the same as the word Messiah in Jewish and Christian writings. This word however is not further explained in the Qur’an.
AAeesa: Jesus/ Isa
Ibnu: Son of
Maryama: Mary
Wajeehan: dignified/ of high status
Note: the root is W-J-H and it means face. It is used conceptually to mean what meets the eye or what receives others, since the face is what we meet first. WAJEEHAN means one with lots of face. This then means one with dignity and high status in a sense.
Fee: in
Alddunya: This life
Note: the root is D-N-W and it means nearness or nearing. ALDUNYA means the near. In this case, it points to this life that we are living in as the near.
Waalakhirati: and the remaining/ and the next/ the later
Note: WA means and. ALAKHIRATI is derived from the root Hamza-KH-R and it means remaining. ALAKHIRATI means the remaining or the later. This, in turn means the later life or the life after death.
Wamina: and of/ from
Almuqarrabeena: the ones who were made close (To God)
Note: the root Qaf-R-B and it means nearing in all the planes of thought as in time and space and others. ALMUQARRABEENA are the ones who are made close to an entity. The entity that they are close to in here is God.
