Salaam all
This is 3:56
Faamma allatheena kafaroo faoAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan fee alddunya waalakhirati wama lahum min nasireena
The Aya says:
As for the ones who rejected, then I will make them suffer, tight suffering, in this life and the remaining (life), and (there will) not belong to them of supporters at time of need.
My personal note:
This Aya continues the promise given by God to Jesus that those who rejected Jesus will receive suffering in the life of now and the next life. God assures Jesus that they will have no one to help them.
Translation of the transliterated words:
Faamma: So, as for
Allatheena: those who
Kafaroo: rejected
Note: the root is K-F-R and it means burying the seed in the ground for planting. It is used to mean rejection of an idea because that means covering the brain in the ground from the idea or covering the idea so that it is not known or seen. KAFAROO is an action that is derived from the root and that is completed. It means the action of rejection happened by the subject (third person plural pointing to any group that fits the description. Here it points to allatheena= those who). It means they rejected.
faoAAaththibuhum: then I will make them suffer
Note: Fa means then or so or therefore, oAAaTHTHIBUHUM is derived from the root is Ain-TH-B and it means to avoid desirable food or drink (aAATHB) because of some suffering. oAAaTHTHIBU is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of making the object HUM= them suffer is happening or will be happening by the subject (first person singular pointing to God).
AAathaban: suffering
Note: the root is Ain-TH-B and it means to avoid desirable food or drink (aAATHB) because of some suffering. AAaTHABAN is the process that makes a person not take the desirable food or drink and that is suffering.
Shadeedan: tight/ hard
Note: The root is SH-D-D and it means tightening for the action and tight for the description. The “tight” can also extend the meaning to hard and strong and so forth. SHADEEDAN means tight or hard or severe.
fee: in
Alddunya: This life
Note: the root is D-N-W and it means nearness or nearing. ALDUNYA means the near. In this case, it points to this life that we are living in as the near.
Waalakhirati: and the remaining/ and the next/ the later
Note: WA means and. ALAKHIRATI is derived from the root Hamza-KH-R and it means remaining. ALAKHIRATI means the remaining or the later. This, in turn means the later life or the life after death.
Wama: and not
Lahum: belong to them
Min: of/ from
Nasireena: helpers at time of need/ supporters at the time of need
Note: the root N-Sad-R and it means aid or help at a time of need. NASIREENA means: supporters or helpers at the time of need.
Salaam all and have a great day
Hussein
