3:51

Salaam all,

This is 3:51
إِنَّ اللّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ هَـذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ
Inna Allaha rabbee warabbukum faoAAbudoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun

The Aya says:
Verily, Allah (is) my nurturing Lord and your nurturing Lord. Therefore make your-selves his servants/slaves. This (is) a path made straight.

My personal note:
It is a reminder that God is the nurturing Lord for all and the path to him is through the message of his prophets.
The term: “make your-selves His servants/ slaves” is derived from the root Ain-B-D and it means slave or servant. When one makes himself a slave or a servant to an entity voluntarily, then it is mostly because of the power of love and devotion to that entity, although God has all the real power. It encompasses making our lives and actions dedicated to the service of God. This includes acts of worship, but also all our actions that we do in life, if God is our focus as we do them.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Inna: Verily
Allaha: Allah
Rabbee: my nurturing Lord
Note: the root is R-B-B and it means lord or king as well as nurturing and sustaining. The word is used for the head of the household and for the teacher because both are leaders over us and they nurture us in many ways. RABBEE is an informing statement that means My Nurturing Lord.
Warabbukum: and you nurturing Lord
Note: WA means and. RABBUKUM, the root is R-B-B and it means lord or king as well as nurturing and sustaining. The word is used for the head of the household and for the teacher because both are leaders over us and they nurture us in many ways. RABBU means: nurturing lord of. KUM is plural you.
faoAAbudoohu: therefore worship him/ therefore make your-selves slaves to him
Note: FA means therefore or so or then. OAABUDUHU is derived from the root Ain-B-D and it means slave or servant. oAABUDOO is an order form to action. It means: make your-selves slaves or servants to the object HU which means Him and points to God. This term of making oneself slave to God is understood as worship because the person makes himself or herself slave to an entity that has power over him/ her either through mere power or through the power of love and devotion. God has both of those powers and we make ourselves his slaves because of the power of his love and because of devotion to Him while always being aware of His ability to overpower us in all other aspects.
Hatha: This
Siratun: path
Note: the root is Sad-R-TTa and means path or road. SIRATUN means path.
Mustaqeemun: made straight/ straightened
Note: the root is Qaf-W-M and it means standing upright or standing. The upright can be in all planes of position and for a horizontal dimension it means straight. MUSTAQEEMUN is a derivative word that means was made upright or was made straight.

Salaam all and have a great day

Hussein
