3:57

Salaam all,

This is 3:57
وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَاللّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ
Waamma allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fayuwaffeehim ojoorahum waAllahu la yuhibbu alththalimeena

The Aya says:
And as for the ones who made themselves safe (in God and his message) and did the deeds of benefit, then He (God) will make them meet their dues, their compensations, and Allah does not love the transgressors.

My personal note:
This Aya brings to our attention that God is just. He gives the dues to each and every one of us. It also reminds us that God does not love those who make their decisions in darkness and those are the transgressors. Here, God is saying that He is just since he does not love the one who is unjust. God is reassuring us of His justice.

The theme of light and darkness occur in Arabic where light means decisions made right whereas darkness means decisions of transgression and error and injustice.

The deeds of benefit are any deed that leads to benefit in a positive way whether spiritual or material or any other way.
Translation of the transliterated words:
Waamma: and as for
Allatheena: those who
Amanoo: made themselves safe (in Allah and his message)
Note: the root is Hamza-M-N and it means safe or safety. AMANOO is an action that is derived from the root and that is completed. It means: the action of making the object (not mentioned and therefore the subject and the object is the same entity here) become safe happened by the subject (third person plural). So, it ends up meaning: they made themselves safe.
waAAamiloo: and they did
Note: WA means and. aAAaMILOO is derived from the root is Ain-M-L and it means doing or making. aAAaMILOO is an action that is completed that is derived from the root. It means: the action of doing or making happened by the subject (third person plural) to the object (ALSSALIHATI that is coming up)
Alssalihati: the helpful deeds/ the deeds of benefit (in all the angles of benefit spiritual and physical).
Note: the root is Sad-L-Ha and it means becoming helpful or useful in a good direction. Included in this meaning is becoming fixed after having been broken. ALSSALIHATI are the helpful or useful deeds that are in a good direction. Basically, it includes any deed or word of benefit in all the angles of benefit, spiritual and physical and others.
Fayuwaffeehim: Therefore/then, He (God) make them meet their dues
Note: FA means therefore or so or then. YUWAFEEHIM is derived from the root W-F-Y and it means meeting dues. This then takes different meanings according to the plane of thought of the sentence. One meaning could be death since it is a meeting of dues, or just a taking of someone or something depending on the situation. Other meanings are the basic meeting of dues of obligations and so forth and that is the use here. YUWAFFEE is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of making the object (Him which means them) meet their dues, is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person singular pointing to God).
Ojoorahum: their compensations
Note: the root is Hamza-J-R and it means compensation for work done. OJOORA: means compensations of. HUM means them.
waAllahu: and Allah
la: not
yuhibbu: He loves
Note: the root is Ha-B-B and it means in concrete seed. This word also means love. As if the seed is the product of love or the love will end up in a seed. YUHIBBU is an action that is derived from the root and that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of loving is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person singular pointing to God). This, in effect means, HE loves
Alththalimeena: the transgressors/ the ones who misplace right and wrong/ the ones who make decisions in darkness.
Note: the root is THA-L-M and it means darkness in the most concrete form. This word also takes the meaning of misplacing right from wrong and transgression since it is misplacing right from wrong and a decision made in darkness. ALTHTHALIMEENA are the ones in darkness, the transgressors or the misplacers of right and wrong.

Salaam all and have a great day

Hussein
