3:126

Salaam all,

This is 3:126
وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللّهُ إِلاَّ بُشْرَى لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِ وَمَا النَّصْرُ إِلاَّ مِنْ عِندِ اللّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ
Wama jaAAalahu Allahu illa bushra lakum walitatmainna quloobukum bihi wama alnnasru illa min AAindi Allahi alAAazeezi alhakeemi

The Aya says:
And Allah did not make him (the angel’s support) except glad tidings to you (plural), and to make your hearts and minds secure by him. And the support is but from at Allah’s, the dominantly strong, the wise.

My personal note:
The Aya continues that the news of the help from the angels in that battle is mainly glad tidings to the followers of the messenger, in order to calm their emotions and minds. It then reminds them that all help comes only from Allah.

The Aya ends up with two attributes of Allah the dominantly strong and the wise, to remind us to have safety in them. God puts the wise, just after the dominantly strong to make us feel that all this strength and dominance are in the Hand of the wise, who will use them only for the best causes and in the best way.

Translation of the translated words:
Wama: and not
jaAAalahu: He made him
Note: the root is J-Ain-L and it means making or to make. JaAAaLA is an action that is completed. It means: the action of making the object (HU= him, pointing to the support with the angels) happened by the subject (third person singular pointing to Allah, coming up).
Allahu: Allah
Illa: except
Bushra: glad tidings/ good news
Note: the root is B-SH-R and it means the outer skin and is used to mean softness and beauty. In abstract, it can mean many things and one of them is the good news and happiness as the beautiful skin can do. BUSHRA means glad tidings or good news.
Lakum: to you (plural)
Walitatmainna: an in order that they become calm/ secure
Note: WA links what is before with what is after it. This is a link through inclusion, either one included in the other or all are included in a bigger picture or statement. LI means to and in here is means in order to. TATMAINNA is derived from the root TTa-M-N and it means calmness and feeling secure or peaceful. TATMAINNA is an action that is derived from the root that is ongoing or incomplete. It means: the action of becoming calm or secure is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person plural and it the next word)
Quloobukum: your hearts/ your minds and hearts/ your thoughts and emotions
Note: The root is Qaf-L-B and it means turning an entity upside down or 180 degrees. It is used to mean emotion and thought or heart. This is because the three change in 180 degrees as in changing thoughts and emotions. QULOOBU means emotions and thoughts or hearts of. KUM means plural you.
Bihi: by Him (the support from the angels)
Note: Bi suggests that what comes after it is either an association with the action, a tool of the action or an object of the action or any combination of the three. If bi serves as an object of the action that it serves as an emphasis of the action.
Wama: and not
Alnnasru: the support in time of need/ the winning
Note: the root N-Sad-R and it means aid or help or support at the time of need. ALNNASRU means the support at the time of need or the aid. It can be also used to mean winning since winning comes with help.
Illa: except
Min: from
AAindi: at presence of/ at possession of/ at
Note: AAiND means at, but carries the meaning of at, or at presence of or at possession of according to the situation. AAiNDI here means at presence or place of.
Allahi: Allah
alAAazeezi: the dominantly strong
Note: the root is Ain-Z-Z and it means the hard earth that will not yield under the rain and therefore, will make the rain water flow rather than seep. It is used for entities that are strong and defeat pressure, basically the combination of strength and dominance.
Alhakeemi: the wise
Note: the root Ha-K-M and it means the steer that steers the animal. This word is used for ruling and judging as well as other meanings that contain steering as part of the concept. ALHAKEEM means the wise or the steering. The steering means the entity that steers in the best way possible using the best tools of knowledge, compassion, justice and mercy, and that is wisdom.
