لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذَّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ
Laysa laka mina alamri shayon aw yatooba AAalayhim aw yuAAaththibahum fainnahum thalimoona

The Aya says:
Not (belong) to you (Muhammad) of the implement an entity. Whether He brings repentance on them or He makes them suffer, then they (are) transgressors.

My personal note:
This Aya brings some important issues. The one important issue is that the authority of bringing repentance or suffering is with God alone. The second is that God keeps open the possibility of bringing repentance or accepting the repentance of those who transgress against themselves through sin and otherwise. He also keeps open the possibility of making people suffer for their transgressions. In either case, God is just, wise and merciful, all at the same time.

Translation of the transliterated words:
Laysa: not
Laka: to you (singular)/belongs to you
Mina: of/from
Alamri: the implement/ the order to implement.
Note: The root is Hamza-M-R and it means ordering something and the implementation of it. Sometimes it attains the implementation part or matter as in personal matter and so forth, and at times it is the order and implementation of the order, depending on the situation in the sentence. ALAMRI means the implement or the order to implement.
Shayon: an entity
Note: the root is SH-Y-Hamza and it means entity. SHAYON means entity.
Aw: or/ either
Yatooba: He arrives repentance/ He brings repentance
Note: the root is T-W-B and it means repentance or the ultimate return to GOD. The concrete word that is related is TABOOT and it means coffin which is what takes us to our ultimate return to GOD or repentance. YATOOBA is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of repentance happened by the subject (third person singular pointing to God). Because it is followed by AAalayhim= on them, then it carries the meaning of He arrives repentance on them.
AAalayhim: on them
Aw: or
yuAAaththibahum: He makes them suffer
Note: the root is Ain-TH-B and it means to avoid desirable food or drink (aAATHB) because of some suffering. YuAAaTHTHIBU is an action that is being completed or will be completed. It means: the action of making the object HUM= them suffer is happening or will be happening by the subject (third person singular pointing to God).
Fainnahum: then they
Thalimoona: transgressors/ ones who make decisions in darkness/ the ones who misplace right and wrong.
Note: the root is THA-L-M and it means darkness in the most concrete form. This word also takes the meaning of misplacing right from wrong and transgression since it is misplacing right from wrong and a decision made in darkness. THALIMOONA are the ones in darkness, the transgressors or the mis-placers of right and wrong.
